Comments: (5/12/08) - "Julie and Wayne had just gotten back from vacation but went right outside to prepare for our arrival when I called from the road. The beds for the humans were wonderful! Slept like rocks. It was really nice to get up and go feed in the morning and then come in for a hot shower and coffee. I appreciate people like Julie that open up their homes to people traveling with Equine - it's a piece of mind finding a safe resting place for all involved.". . .(6/56/08) - "Julie is a great host. The stalls were large covered pens that the horses could stretch and relax in. Very nice. Easy to find with the directions, close to the interstate. Safe and clean faciilites. Would definitely stay again and also Julie makes great coffee! Thanks.". . .(8/15/08) - "Wonderful stay. Julie was an excellent host, human and horse facilities were both wonderful. Just be sure to get directions from website and not Mapquest!". . . (12/31/08) - "Pretty Horses is definitetly a facility that you will want to stop and enjoy. It was much more than what we were expecting. Thank you for the great hospitality and comfortable accommodations for us and our horses! We will make it a stop on our next trip west.". . . (9/18/09) - "I travel in my job so I know what it is like to be away from home. James Edgeman, his wife Janet, and my wife, Pam Mullins, stayed the night on the way to Colorado and, I must say, I have never stayed anywhere that I have felt more at home. The rooms were very clean, the refrigerator was packed with fresh fruit, cookies and sandwich meats. We decided to stay there on the return and the results were the same. The horse stalls were just as clean. I have since returned to Denver and stayed without my horses. The price was great and I liked the at home feeling , Thanks Julie for all your help with the horses. You're a great host.. . . (2/21/11) - "Julie and Wayne and son were wonderful hosts! The barn and runs were very clean and safe, I liked the soft sand for the horses. The room was wonderful; it was like having a suite all to myself!! I will be back! Keep up the great work, Julie and Wayne.". . . (6/18/11) - "A wonderful experience; nice for my horse to have a pen to walk around in that was very safe and sheltered and there was a stall for the dogs to stay in. The bed and breakfast was immaculate and lovely. Welcoming hosts and convenient to the interstate, highly recommended.". . . (12/6/11) - "Wayne and Julie were very friendly and so helpful when I stayed at their facility. I had never stayed at an overnight horse facility before and was a bit nervous as I was fairly new to traveling with horses. I had two tires on my trailer "go south" on me earlier in the day and I limped into their facilities quite late. They cheerfully greeted me and helped me and my horses get settled. I would recommend this operation to any of my friends with out hesitation.". . . (6/28/12) - "Fantastic. So clean and comfortable. An absolute life saver on our move from Florida to Colorado. Friendly and accommodating. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay over for us and our horses.". . . (7/16/12) - "Julie is absolutely THE best. Great facility, wonderful hospitality. We stayed here both ways on the trip. Highly recommend.". . . (10/30/12) - "Our first stay at a horsey hotel. Host was amazingly helpful and would love to stay again if we travel back through, Thank you so much; it made our vacation relaxing knowing there are places like this when you travel with a horse.". . . (9/29/13) - "Wayne & Julie were wonderful hosts and were warm and inviting to humans and horses (and even our dogs). We went on a 3 week trip and spent 10 days at various locations for overnight stops and found this was our most comfortable, inviting, and all around best stop on our long days on the road. Wayne greeted us as soon as we turned into the drive and made sure our horses were happy and our rig was ready for the night before he thought of leaving us to rest. Julie soon arrived to answer any questions we had on local markets or food. Both of them (and their dog "Max") greeted us like old friends even though this was our first time at their beautiful farm. We would go back to this locale on any trip through there. Please consider this place a very good stop on your trip through Kansas. Ed & Sue Black.". . . (5/28/14) - "Beautiful place and wonderful accommodations. They went over and above making sure that we had breakfast and food; the night before drinks. movies...etc. Very sweet and caring. When our horse was an idiot and wouldn't get off the trailer she came over and helped ... thank you.". . . (11/1/14) - "This was an awesome lay over for us. The horse location was more than adequate, neat, clean and well lit for our after dark arrival. The owners were more than gracious to work with our travelling plans. We were thrilled to be able to stay on the property with the horse with seperate quarters for us. It was like being at home; well stocked kitchen and the entire living area was neat and clean. Very relaxing after a long day of travel. The separate entrance made it easy to check on the horse also. Kind, friendly and knowledgeable owners. Highly recommend this facility."

Comments: (7/2/05) - "What service! We called on our way across the State and they had room for us and were wonderful when we arrived. The stalls were big and wonderfully bedded. Our three horses rested well and I would highly recommend Tin Acres. Thanks much!". . .(9/14/05) - "Fabulous place--large, clean, well-bedded stalls in an immaculate barn with all amenities close at hand. Theron and Jane are very knowlegeble horse people and wonderful hosts. The 'people' lodgings were very spacious, welcoming, and clean, with a separate entrance in case you needed to leave early, or check on the horses in the night. Smart! I would go out of my way to hit Colby again on a road trip!". . .(10/5/05) - "Our hosts were absolutely wonderful, hospitable people. Their home is absolutely incredible & beautiful. The sleeping acommodations were immaculately clean, very comfortable & private. The breakfast was this huge feast with something to please even the "pickiest" of palates. If we are ever traveling through Kansas again, we will definitely make this a "have to" stop - regardless of whether or not we have horses with us!". . . (6/20/06) - "What a wonderful spot! Not sure I wanted to let anyone know and just keep it to myself! If I make it to the finals next year it is definitely on my list to stay. It is all good! Stalls are wonderful. Most of all - our hosts were #1. Food and company could not be beat. I am from the south and you could not find better hospitality anywhere!". . .(7/20/06) - "Highly recommended!! Wonderful breakfast, such gracious hosts, & the largest & most comfortable beds I've slept in in a long time. Double stall for our horse. Thanks!!". . .(6/17/07) - "Wow! What a wonderful place. Great hosts and even better food. Big stalls and dry too. It rained buckets but we didn't care. The suite is awesome. I will definitely stay here again. Oh! My wife says the massage was marvelous!!!!". . . (10/19/07) - "They weren't kidding when they called this the Hilton of Horse Motels! Wonderful people and wonderful facility. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!". . .(6/8/08) - "The barn was fantastic, huge clean stall. Was able to lead my horse around the grounds for a while and let him stretch and eat some grass. There had been a lot of rain so the outdoor arena and pens were too muddy to let him loose for awhile. The house is huge, the guest rooms were immaculate and decorated very nicely. Exactly as the website shows. They not only fed us a great breakfast, but also included us for dinner with their family. Mrs Johnson is a wonderful lady and has the energy of 10 (at least)! Loved it and have already recommended it highly.". . .(7/5/08) - "Home on The Range is truly a "home on the range". From the minute we pulled in, my daughter and I were greeted by the most wonderful couple you would ever meet, Jane and Theron. I have stayed at Home on the Range the summers of '06 and '07 in my journey from Virginia Beach, Va to Parachute, Colorado. The accommodations for my horses were great and Ms. Johnsons peach pie is the best by far! As a single mother traveling with a young daughter and 3 horses, I felt safe and secure. I highly recomend Home on the Range to anyone looking to stay in Kansas.". . . (2/6/09) - "Our stay with Theron and Jane was great. Jane provided us with the best breakfast, accommodations, and hospitality we have experienced in all of our travels. Our horses were taken care of with excellent accommodations.". . . (7/10/09) - "Jane is about the best hostess you could ask for-very helpful with a cholicy mare, great accommodations, and a breakfast that will get you ready to hit the road. SUPER!". . . (3/18/10) - ""Magical" We are in love with this place! Driving west from Kentucky with our 17HD ThBr. We stopped for the night at Tin Acres. 1 night turned into 3.The facility was wonderful, the people were fantastic. Theron is a fountain of knowledge, Jane a bouquet of love, EJ, Jessica, and Andy were so helpful, friendly and kind I can't say enough. Remy had a great stall and lots of time in the arena. We not only had a relaxing stay we learned so much, it was PERFECT. We'll be back.". . . (9/30/10) - "This was our third and fourth stay at TinAcres and Jane does not disappoint! The stalls are large and comfortable, the hostess is lovely and the "bed and breakfast" aspect is wonderful. Great to be able to stay onsite- comfortable and good to know your horse is being watched by video.". . . (8/29/11) - "Jane and Theron's Farm is one of our favorite stops on our trips to and from Montana. Super nice and clean rooms and a breakfast you will not forget! Pet friendly, great hosts, shopping and dining within 10 miles. Highly recommended.". . . (9/4/11) - "This was our favorite stay out of 4 fantastic barns on our cross country venture. Jane and Therin were extremely accommodating and we felt right at home in their beautiful house. Even though we insisted on a small breakfast Jane put out a spread with jams, breads, wonderful fruits and lots of good coffee. The house was incredibly comfortable, quiet and relaxing. Our horse was very happy in a large turnout and the stalls were very spacious. We enjoyed the company of their dog and the goats. Phenomenal stay, would highly recommend!" . . . (11/14/12 - "What a wonderful place! My horses enjoyed the large stalls and deep bedding. We enjoyed one heckuva breakfast and stayed in some truly beautiful rooms!". . . (10/13/13) - "Traveling thru with three old timers headed to pasture, and once again, Jane Johnson put out a great welcome with a beautiful room for humans and nice clean stalls for horses. We have stayed with Jane many times in the last several years and she never disappoints! Her place is just the best, folks, you can never go wrong staying at Tin Acres QH Ranch! She has the best facilities for horse and human there are and she is a total Angel! We even stay with Jane when we are just passing thru with NO horses! Tin Acres is the best, if you are near there and need to stop, travel no farther! Thanks Jane!". . . (4/8/14) - "Our stay with Jane during a trip from PA to CO in March 2014 was excellent. She did everything to make it special. The horse accommodations were great and they were able to relax and stretch out. Our accommodations were also as relaxing. By the way, the breakfast was to die for! We unexpectidly had to stay an extra day due to weather and Jane was more than happy to accommodate us. We plan to make this our stop on the way back home later this year.". . . (7/6/14) - "Very convenient and right on KS Hwy. 25. Has power available for hook up and bath facilities are available in the barn. I would not hesitate to stay again. The location is about 8 miles from Colby."
