Comments: (2/2/16) - "You will not find a better host than Ricky Carey. My horse Smokey and I stayed with Ricky for 4 nights and it was first class treatment. I highly recommend Ricky's for a pleasant stay and excellent care.". . . (3/14/16) - "Very easy to get to from the Interstate. Very close to restaurants and attractions. Big outdoor arena. Small arena in barn with stalls to work your horse or lunge them to work their muscles after being in the trailer.". . . (4/20/16) - "One of the best places to stay; can come in at any hour. Ricky will really take care of you and your horses.". . . (5/16/16) - "Traveling home from Florida to B.C. Canada we had the pleasure of staying at Carey's Farm. Ricky had everything ready for our young stallion; very safe and secure barn. Staying in one of the rental rooms in his house was a bonus as we left early with Ricky and his brother Mitchel seeing us off. Easy on and off the interstate; would highly recommend Carey's. Thanks again Mitchel for the use of your vehicle to go eat and saving us unhooking the trailer. See you in November for the return to Florida!!!"

Comments: (8/30/15) - "Nice pleasant, relaxing night for horses and people. Beatiful cabin.", , , (12/1/15) - "Important to know that there is no electricity at the barn. Water is close by.". . . (4/5/16) - "These are old fashion stalls. At one time they were adequate. If they were better maintained they would still be be fine with me. Latches, stall fronts, etc., were loose and provided marginal security. The stalls are very large, dry, and provide good protection from the weather. If you are pulling a rig of any size DO NOT turn on Dixon Lane; the next turn is tight and bordered by a significant ditch. The road, though black top, is one lane. Good luck if you meet on coming traffic. It is only about a 1/4 of a mile to the state road. Turn there, although the road is also narrow but the turns are OK for any trailer. The premisis are cluttered, both on the drive and in the barn, so be prapared to negotiate the obstacle course with your truck, trailer and horses. The barn is along side the black top road. You just swing off and pull along side the barn. The ground is high but heavy clay. Tt was frosty the morning I left and I needed the FWD. I can picture a challenge if it was wet. There is no gravel for practical purposees. The owner is a practical, knowlegable horse woman. You will enjoy your visit. The area is beautiful. We are carriage people. Wish we could have hooked for a drive. We would go back!"

Comments: (3/7/14) - "Jennifer took us in even though she had a reservation; we were driving in with a new horse and got caught in an ice storm. Not only did she make us feel welcome, she made dinner as we could not get out in the ice. A beautiful home and a beautiful family. I cannot wait to go back in good weather and ride for fun. *** the house cat is a wonderful toe warmer!!!"

(6/15/13) - "Gayle and Rex are the best HOSTS!!! They met us on he road and led us to their beautiful home on top of a hill. The setting was beautiful . Thank you again, Mary ,Mattie , Jack , Buster, Yogi and Miss Tilly.". . . (7/8/13) - "Rex and Gayle were great! We came in late at night and they helped us find the farm. They stayed up and got the horses all set for the night. I would definitely stay there again.". . . (11/6/13) - "I hauled my horse from Virginia to Wyoming. Rex was amazing with allowing me to come in late due to being stuck in traffic. He helped me feed and water. I was very happy with the large stall so that my horse could move around after the 12 hr trailer ride. I was very happy with the service provided and I made it a point to stay there on my haul back to Virginia three months later.". . . Would definitely recommend and stay there again when traveling through KY.". . . (6/21/15) - "We came in later then expected since there was bad weather. So it was just getting dark. Rex was great at meeting us and helping us get set up.". . . (6/27/15) - "We called Gayle at 9:30pm on a Friday night after another Lexington Horse Hotel with whom we had reservations turned us away. She and her husband Rex could not have been more gracious hosts, providing us with directions and assisting us with the unloading and setup of our horses. It's a modest facility, but very friendly. I would definitely recommend a stay here. It's a little hard to find, but Rex was very patient with directions and even waiting on the road at 10:30 at night for us to make sure we didn't miss our turnoff. We can't thank you enough for your kindness.". . . (7/17/15) - "Wonderful, welcoming people. Took great care of our horses. Beautiful farm.". . . Would definitely recommend them to people I know.". . . (9/26/15) - "It was the perfect layover allowing our show horses to relax prior to attending a national event and on the return a good spot to relax. Lovely atmosphere, very quiet; the owners live on site and were very accommodating. We were also able to stay in our living quarters on the farm. Would like to have been able to stay longer and do some trail riding.". . . (5/3/16) - "The host was very accommodating on extremely short notice.". . . (6/21/16) - "Rex met us at the barn and was very helpful getting our horse settled. We sat and visited with him on the barn porch, it was so homey we could have sat there all night!! He was very helpful in steering us towards motels and restaurants. We would highly recommend this facility."

(10/10/14) - "Love, love this place- so did our horses- we travel cross country from Vermont to Texas- best place - we are planning our trip next spring around Saddle and Sheets- easy in and out- water waiting for horses- immaculate beautiful barn- pristine paddocks- and charming historic town minutes away.". . . (12/16/14) - "A beautiful, secure facility. Steve called us the night before our reservation to ensure that we had the proper directions and that we had secured a hotel for our stay. We called to let them know when we were an hour out and Steve met us there and showed us around. Beautiful huge paddock for our horses and secure fencing. We left for our hotel with great comfort knowing our horses where happy for the night. We will certainly be stopping there on our trip home and in the future. Thanks again Steve and Wanda.". . . (5/13/15) - "Another awesome stay! Great facility and people ! Thank you Saddles & Sheets!". . . (6/27/15) - "(Administrator Comments - On this date an unhappy traveler wrote to say that she, her daughter and two horses could not make contact with the horse motel owners while enroute to Saddles & Sheets after having made a reservation. She was arriving late and felt she was turned away, which was frustrating and disconcerting to her. She had to continue on to another horse motel late at night. Saddles & Sheets accepts late arrivals so the reason for the incident is unclear but it is very unfortunate).. . . (7/9/15) - "Steve and Wand Mobley run a wonderful establishment. I have boarded with them at least a dozen times. I always look forward to this stop on our trip from NC to MT. They are so helpful and kind and I would without reservation recommend this stable.". . . (7/10/15) - "This was my 2d time with Steve and Wanda on trips between NC and MN. They were friendly, courteous, and bent over backwards to ensure the comfort of my three horses. I wish my pastures were as spacious and secure! I am also envious of the automatic waterers in the pastures. This is a top-notch facility and I'll continue to use them again and again.". . . (7/10/15) - "We can't say enough wonderful things about this facility and Steve and Wanda! Always clean, safe, wonderful stalls, wonderful paddocks and kind, thoughtful folks! They are always prepared for our visits!! The owners have made everything we needed and wanted happen. Helped us get the horses in when it stormed, even though we did not ask for stalls! They are close to the highway, easy in and out! Close to fuel, hotels and restaurants! We would recommend them to anyone! Stayed with them going back and forth across the country for years! Wonderful place to stay with your horses!". . . (7/12/15) - "This is a wonderful facility. I will certainly stay here again the next time we are traveling through KY. We were delayed due to road construction and called to let Steve know we were running late. He assured us it wasn't a problem and greeted us pleasantly when we arrived 3 hours late. He made sure our pony was comfortable in their beautiful barn. I was impressed that they checked for health paperwork. The farm is conveniently located within 2 miles of the interstate. Hotels and restaurants are in close proximity.". . . (7/27/15) - "The utmost SUPERB care of my horses-have made friends for life! Steve & Wanda go above and beyond for their clients and horses, and their facility is Beautiful and clean-I go back every year, and can't wait for my next visit!". . . (5/8/16) - "Steve and Wanda were the perfect hosts for us. The property and stalls are beautiful. Clean, lovely pastures and very accessible to both lodging and expressways. They greeted us with kindness and even called to report how the horses were doing within hours of my leaving the barn. I am very happy to have found this home away from home.". . . (8/9/16) - "Steve and Wanda were great; facility was clean and easy to get in and out of. We will stay with them again."
