My horses have been very well taken care of, with reminders of when to worm and have a farrier in for the hoof care. My hard-to-keep Appy hasn't had any problem keeping his weight on, while grazing on the pastures of this farm. We all woke up to a lovely breakfast the next morning, refreshed and ready to take on another long day on the road. Comments: (10/11/06) - "I would highly recommend this wonderful place to anyone traveling in the area!!! Not too far from 71, with beautiful rolling hills all around! My girlfriend and I spent a night there recently on our way from Texas to Iowa and loved it. The owners are very caring and helpful. The cabin is GREAT: spacious, cute, and clean. Ilene even offered us a home-cooked breakfast after our long travels the night before. The horse barn is new, clean and secure. Ilene and Irvin are knowledgable horse people with hearts of gold! We woke up refreshed and so did our horses. It is definitely worth the stop. My husband and I will be visiting here again! Thanks for everything!!!". . .(11/15/06) - "We stayed there and we LOVED it. Comments: (11/5/04) - "The motel they say is on the premises is a fairly long walk from the stalls. There are a variety of stalls present and you simply pick out what is available. Some are definitely nicer than others. There is adequate trailer parking around the facility as well as water which is freely accessible. There really is not much security that we saw so we slept in our trailer by the stall. Be sure to check if there is anything going on there before you pull in because if a rodeo or horse show is in progress you may not find a stall. There are restrooms (not anything lavish) by the stalls. It is easy on and easy off I-70.". . . (8/1/05) - "[It's] right off of the highway with a hotel on the grounds and a 24 hour restaurant which was very convienent and all extremely easy to find. You go to the hotel and the woman there was very nice and friendly and said we could basically pick whatever stalls we wanted, and you pay the hotel for the stalls. However, we arrived to find a deserted fairground type atmosphere and I was extremely nervous to leave my horses in stalls there, especially because I couldn't find lights and there was no horse people/exposition center people there at all or anyone around to even ask what to do. There really isn't anything around...it's basically an exit only for the Midway Exposition Center and pretty deserted at that. There was a water spigot right outside one of the barns but the stalls are the temporary kind with dirt floors (or at least the ones I picked...lots of different barns...but it was very hard to see in the dark), sort of set up in pole barns with mostly open sides...so basically your horses are right there in the dark on the side of pavement. It was as described and the people with the hotel were very nice but aren't at all involved with the horse aspects, so I wouldn't really recommend arriving for overnight stabling if it's after dark or if you aren't adequetly prepared to sleep nearby your horses.". . .(9/9/07) - "This is an open facility. Some stalls better than others. Ours had solid walls and good doors. Call ahead in case some event's going on, but everyone was very nice and tried their best to make us and the horses comfortable. We parked next to the barn to be close to the stalls. Bring your own bedding."

The facilities are excellent, the owners are eager to be helpful, and traveling alone, I felt very safe and comfortable there. I hope to return to Cedar Lake next year, and I certainly will overnight at Pear Tree Lane Stables. I recommend them highly.

However, Teri was a very kind and gracious host. The apartment suite, which was a bargain price for what it is, was charmingly decorated in a Western motif, and we were able to let our dog and cats out of their cages (most of our other stays did not allow us to bring the pets inside). The horse facilities were fine although, as an east-coaster, I was not used to pipe-corrals. I know they are common in the west, so probably not a big deal to people moving West to East. However, even though it was the first time in them, my horses were fine with them. A recommended stay.". . .(8/22/07) - "A nice quiet, relaxing stay for the horses and humans! Host provided arena for turn-out to allow horses to roll after trip. Stalls were roomy, clean, and very convenient to the pickup and trailer. Hostess was genuinely friendly and welcoming. The facility is very convenient (less than 10 minutes) from several hotels and restaurants. The only reason we didn't use the place on our return home is that we sold those horses during our trip. This place is well located approx. half way between Indy and Oklahoma City, so it made a perfect resting place. This is a great outfit. You may use them with complete confidence."

She went out of her way on all accounts to make us feel welcome. I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling within the area. We had all three children, two horses, two rabbits, and a dog; they all were made comfortable. The hostess bought food especially for the kids, bought horse medicine, cleaned our trailer, and even helped load our diffucult horse. About 20 minutes from the freeway, and not at all close to food, though she tells you this up front and warns you to stop (and even suggested which exits) for food before you get there. Cute apartment.". . .(6/8/08) - "The host greeted us immediately upon arrival, helped get my horse into their indoor arena right away to stretch his legs, then after a bit we got him settled into his large, clean stall. The host then cleaned my trailer, just as advertised (very nice service for tired travelers). Great place for my horse. He was well taken care of and watched for food and water intake. My sister and I really liked the private accommodations. We enjoyed talking to the host also, we met several of her animals and particularly liked Annie Goatly and the two dogs. We recommend this place to any one traveling along I-70 that needs to stop near Williamsburg with their horses."
