Comments: NOTE FROM OWNER: In response to people leaving neutral comments regarding us not being close to food or lodging: There is a hamburger place directly across the street from us and within less than a mile there is a Dions (pizza and subs); a Panda Express (Chinese); a Subway; a sit down Pizza place and a sit down restaurant. Additionally, we do NOT pace back and forth in front of the stalls 24/7 and do not have surveillance cameras in the stalls. HOWEVER, we do live on the premises and can see the entire facility (which is kept locked at all times) from our house. Multiple motels/hotels are located within 10 minutes of us as we are 10 minutes from the airport.

(1/25/14) - "Very friendly folks. Had big pens to turn horses out for a while before putting them in the stalls in the barn. Nice big stalls. Maggie had fresh shavings and water all ready for us. We were able to plug in our LQ trailer to electric and fill up with water. Gated so felt very secure for horses just in case something got loose they couldn't get out onto the road.close to town for a nice dinner. Would definitely stay here again.". . . (2/16/14) - "Maggie, the owner, is very friendly and accommodating. She helped me lead my mules to their paddock since I was traveling alone, and offered to help me move my stuff into the bunk house. Her husband even situated my rig for me for easy pull out in the morning. The paddocks are spacious and clean. The bunk house is comfortable and climate controlled. My mules and I all got a good night's rest. I recommend Open Heart G as a stopover when traveling with your equines.". . . (6/7/14) - "It was so great to pull into this farm after more than 12 hours on the road! The horses were assigned a large turnout area and took full advantage of being able to move around and eat and drink freely. We stayed in the bunkhouse which was clean and cozy. We would definitely recommend Maggie's place to other travelers.". . . (8/8/14) - "Open Heart G Ranch is an oasis on the way across the country from Georgia to California. My horse and I were very comfortable at the ranch! Maggie treated me like a queen! I could go exploring on horse back on trails in the area. The bunk house is super nice with everything I could need. It was quiet and peaceful so I could rest after a long journey. I would recommend the Open Heart G ranch to everyone traveling with horses. The stalls and turnouts were perfect, clean and spacious. My horse loved it at the Open Heart G Ranch! I hope I get a chance to come back someday!". . . (9/26/14) - "This is the most wonderful place; Maggie and her family were a blessing to me, the bunk house is wonderful. I cannot say enough how wonderful this place is. Close to interstate. In the dead of summer their barn is perfect to keep the horses cool, with fans blowing and auto watering. Thank you for everything. They even have a great trailer cleaner! Maggies' grandson was worth a huge tip to see my trailer so clean. Thank you again for everything.". . . (3/23/15) - "Upon our arrival from Texas, we were greeted by the owner with fresh water drawn for our horses and very large clean pens with a small partial coverage. I would highly recommend this place to keep your horse for a safe overnight stay. Thanks Maggie for your great concern for our horses! Will be by next year on our way to AZ. The Texas Bunch.". . . (9/14/15) - "Maggie and her family at Open G Heart Farm were very welcoming and helpful. It was raining when we pulled in at 9pm but still the family had such a pleasant attitude and made us feel at ease right away. We stayed there last year (August 8, 2014)and are planning on staying there again next month. Don't forget to purchase pecans from the Open Heart G; they are amazing. We had the shelled plain (which I baked with) and the yummiest cinnamon glazed which my family fought over :)". . . (10/19/15) - "One of the best overnight stays we've ever had! The stalls are huge, clean, & airy. Maggie is one of the sweetest, calmest, most knowledgeable horsey person I've met in some time! I highly recommend this horse 'hotel.'". . . (1/9/16) - "I highly recommend laying over at this facility or staying here with your horses for a get away. The owners are beyond helpful, very knowledgable and accommodating. I stayed here on my way to TX and they were here to greet me and the facility and bunkhouse were ready for me. They were also able to accommodate me last minute when my trailer blew a bearing on road in the middle of the night. They greeted me, made room for my horses, and provided me information and resources to help get me back on the road as soon as possible. Wonderful place.". . . (3/18/16) - "Fabulous place. I stayed in the Bunk House and it was great. The bunk house is just the best little place to stay. Maggie has it decorated and themed and also has coffee, snacks, TV, towels, shower; everything you would find in the best bed and breakfast. Loved it. The horse had a large, large pen with a shelter. I would stay here again.". . . (3/27/16) - "Maggie's place is great! We haul from FL to AZ frequently and she is one of our stops each time. Love how she has everything ready (stalls, bunkhouse, etc) when we get there - even when we come in late. The bunkhouse is great and cozy. If we need any help loading, assistance is always offered! 5* HIGHLY RECOMMEND!". . . (4/29/16) - "What a life-saver! I had to come in very late at night but Maggie was ready and waiting. A great experience in horse-people helping other horse-people!!"

Comments: (5/26/08) - "Real nice people, animal lovers. Took great care of us even though we arrived after hours. Clean and easy to get around.". . . (11/1/11) - "Very friendly and clean. Would highly recommend.". . . (4/7/12) - "Nice riding, nice place. They helped us move our 4 horses from open stalls to closed during a 60-70 mph wind and sand storm. We were going to stay 1 day and ended up staying 3 nights. Loved it; people and country were great. Thanks for the great place.". . . (5/26/12) - "Thank you again, Diane, for making our stay at your horse hotel and RV park so nice. We look forward to seeing you in a few months. Sandy and John.". . . (4/26/15) - "A great place to overnight, but if you have time to stay an extra day ask Diane to take you on the Canyon ride. You would never believe how beautiful this area is without this experience! An overall great experience for us and the horses.". . . (11/12/15) - "We stay here every year on our way from Colorado to Arizona. It is my favorite horse motel. The stalls are large and safe, the staff is friendly and helpful. I never worry about the horses when they are here.". . . (1/24/16) - "We were very impressed with Kiva RV park and Horse Motel. It was a great overnight for us as we traveled from NC to WA. The place could not be friendlier or cleaner. The paddock was large and our horses could move about after a long day on the trailer. Full hook-ups were available and showers, laundromat, and a friendly cup of coffee was shared in the cozy office area. Beautiful scenery and riding if you have time; sorry we did not. This facility is highly recommended - you will NOT regret staying here! We were very happy with this stopover especially after being so disappointed by MOST of our other stops. We were traveling in the winter and dipped down to this stop to avoid single digit temperatures in the elevation to the north. It was well worth going a little out of our way from the route 40 corridor."

No bedding and dividing walls are not solid. The pens and facility are very clean. Waterers were clean and good lighting at night. Very easy access from highway. Plenty of level parking and easy to bring a large rig in. Our trailer was 46' long. We were warmly greeted and told of the local restaurants."

(8/2/07) - "The owners were very friendly and welcoming. My horses were relaxed and happy to roll around the large pens. Large, clean water buckets were full and waiting in each horse pen. It was easy to maneuver a big rig in and out of the property. Best of all, we didn't have to clean the pens as they were going to use the manure on the garden.". . .(11/19/08) - "We definitely put this ranch on our permanent "hole-up" places when we're on the road. In addition to the above ratings, the location of this ranch is close enough to I-10 for easy access, but far enough from the freeway to be very quiet. It is a full service facility for RVs (i.e. 30 Amp plug in, water (GREAT tasting) and sewer dump). Each spot has the full service amenities. Awesome!". . . (10/30/11) - "If you want a very peaceful environment this is the perfect place. Access to BLM land with beautiful mountains at your fingertips. Some cattle and we found three watering holes. Our dogs were able to tag along which they enjoyed! Riding conditions were awesome.". . . (12/31/12) - "Met us at the gate even though it was well past dark when we arrived and helped us find glasses that our horse knocked off my husband. Stall was ready for us with water filled. We had brought our own hay, but it was offered. We would stay here again.". . . (1/5/14) - "After having several delays along the road we arrived at 1:30 a.m. and the Diamond Arrow Ranch folks welcomed us and helped us settle down for the rest of the night. They offered the their guest room since we did not have living quarters in our trailer and it was so late. My daughter and I were very grateful for their hospitality and clean barn. I would definitely recommend Diamond Arrow Ranch.". . . (1/5/14) - "Arrived after dark and stalls were ready with fresh water. Owner met me at the gate and helped with my horses. I used the indoor stalls but the owner let our horses stretch in their huge round pen before putting them indoors; it was very necessary since they had been on the road for 12 hours. Traveled to nearest town but felt very comfortable leaving the horses in a safe environment. I would recommend Diamond Arrow Ranch with confidence.". . . (1/7/14) - "Arrived to find stalls ready with fresh water and was greeted by owners. My trailer was quite dirty from traveling through a snow storm and owners offered to clean it. Owners were very hospitable providing a wheel barrow so I could clean out the trailer. Owners suggested an alternate route to my destination to avoid heavy traffic through a large city which I appreciated very much. This was a very pleasant experience and I plan to return.". . . (3/4/15) - "Great place to overnight. Owner/Host (Greg) was there to welcome me and make sure everything was settled. Dropped trailer for the night and went into Deming for a room. When I came back the next morning Greg provided weather report for the direction I was traveling and helped me cover the hay I was carrying so it would be protected from the rain I would drive through going west. I recommend Diamond Arrow Ranch for anyone needing a place overnight or short stays (they have hookups for LQ/RV's).". . . (12/15/15) - "We spent the evening with 2 horses on the night of December 13, 2015. The owner met us shortly after we pulled on the property, he was extremely friendly and especially helpful. Others have rated this place lower because it is a bit of a hike to Deming; not a problem for us since we travel in a coach. 30 amp connection was there as well as water and sewer. We chose the indoors corrals; the shavings were fresh and clean. The owner had filled "clean" tubs with water that our horses drank without hesitation. He had also hung buckets for grain or cubes. He gave us a wheelbarrow to clean out the trailer. This was a great experience. One last thing, the directions on the website were spot on and Siri knew exactly where she was guiding us to.". . . (2/27/16) - "I would highly recommend this horse motel. They were very helpful and the ranch was very clean and safe. They took great care of the horses I brought in for the night.". . . (4/29/16) - "Really helpful owner; flexibile with our unsure travel plans. Gave us clear directions and met us at the entrance with a flashlight - SO appreciated!! Will definitely be back!!"

Comments: (3/10/16) - "We stayed here 2x and were very happy with the size and cleanliness of the stalls. Great on and off access to the interstate. Overall, very quiet for a good nights sleep. Great host, would definitely recommend as a great place to stop for you and your ponies.". . . (3/23/16) - "Harold is just the sweetest, most hospitable man you will ever meet. Finding his facility was probably the highlight of my trip and I will go out of my way to stay at his ranch whenever I travel. He is quick to respond to email and phone calls, will give you better directions than google, and will go out of his way to accommodate you and your horses. Unlike most horse hotels I've been to, he provides large turnouts so your horse can stretch its legs after a long day in the trailer. There are heated waterers, and plenty of shade in the paddocks. I can't begin to describe in depth the kindness my friends and I received from Harold and his wife during our stay, and how happy we were overall about every aspect of it. If you're passing through New Mexico and are anywhere near Deming, STAY HERE!! You will not be disappointed!". . . (3/25/16) - "Lazy Ko Ranch owners Harold and Linda were very welcoming and accommodating during our stay on their lovely property. Our horses enjoyed the spacious paddocks with shelter and fresh water, as well as the visual company of donkeys, goats, chickens, and horses on the property (none of their animals comingle with visitors). Feed store and Tractor Supply located in Deming about 12 miles away; Las Cruces is about 40 miles east and worth the trip for large selection of restaurants, shopping, etc. There is also riding around the area for longer stays. The bunkhouse is very private and includes a comfortable bed, large TV, refrigerator, and internet access. The Lazy Ko Country Store sells the tastiest eggs you will ever eat, collected fresh off their property daily. Harold and Linda are very warm people and will go out of their way to assist you in any way they can - a rare find nowadays. We will definitely be back soon!". . . (4/1/16) - "First class operation. The room was spotless, with a very comfortable bed. The paddock with a shelter was safe and clean, and nice and large. The owners are friendly. I stayed here on my way back, too. It was a nice safe place for a single woman traveler to stay."

The barn is state of the art and the entire grounds is nothing less than spectacular! Rose, the owner, greeted us with such kindness and warmth at night, only to be followed up with great conversation the following morning. I truly hope to stay here again if not just for the facilities, but because of the hostess!!! I wanted to delay our trip and stay another day just to hang out.... Thank you!"

Comments: (11/16/12) - "Perfect layover!! Great stalls for my horses and clean and new bunkhouse for the humans. This is a place you plan your layover trips around. Owners are friendly and fantastic. Wish I had more time to visit and ride my horses at their beautiful ranch.". . . (12/18/12) - "Great place to stay. Stalls were good sized and comfy. My horse was able to relax and felt at home. We stayed in the bunk house right by the barn which made checking on my horse and getting ready to go in the morning really convenient. The owners were really nice and helpful too. I would stay there again!". . . (2/13/13) - "WOW! What a pleasant experience! Really nice place; suitable for the big rigs. We were beyond exhaustion and it was snowing when we arrived. They were more than accommodating and the bunkhouse was awesome. Will be seeing them again soon!". . . (3/8/13) - "Wonderful place to board overnight. Ask about the bunkhouse right next to the barn. Stay there and check on your horse in under a minute. Not a "fancy" place, but very safe and Danny Mirabel is GREAT! We requested shavings for our kid and he was "up to his knees" ... great place for our kid to rest over night.. Would board there again!". . . (3/13/13) - "Great place -quiet in the country setting. Highly recommend!!!". . . (4/7/14) - "We were more than pleased with our stay at the Slash M Slash Ranch. We had three horses and stayed in the bunk house. Jodi was so friendly and accommodating. The bunk house was new with super clean bathrooms, bedding, and etc. The pens were also clean. We went to town for dinner and the recommended restaurant was great. We will stay there again if we get the chance. Could not have been better! March 29, 2014.". . . (3/7/15) - "The cleanest, friendliest place at which we've ever stayed. Great stalls, great bunkhouse (with soft towels!), great owners. We were made to feel at home.". . . (8/6/15) - "Great place! We showed up late & Danny left the lights on in the barn for us! Stalls had tons of shavings. Great people! It is about 6 miles off the I-40. We had a nice stay in a Best Western in town. Perfect layover!". . . (10/3/15) - "It's a pleasure to stop and stay with Danny. I couldn't ask for better. Wouldn't look anywhere else when coming through. Real horse people here.". . . Comments: (3/16/13) - "Shannon and his wife were the perfect hosts; very friendly and helpful. The stalls are excellent and the complete facility has everything you could want. The location is great for both overnighters and as a destination for riding in some very pretty country. I will stay here anytime I'm traveling along this route.". . . (9/12/13) - "We came in with 10 horses. He met us at a major street to show us how to get there easily with a big rig. All our horses were in big stalls. Helped us settle them in; very helpful. He had a practice roping going on and invited us if we wanted. Really nice place and people. Will stay again on our way to Arizona for a show.". . . (1/5/14) - "We were traveling back to CA from East TX and wanted to break up the trip for both us and our horse! We called Shannon when we had a change of plans and he was able to accommodate our horse at the last minute so-to-speak. His facility is close to interstate 10 but far enough away for peace and quiet. It is only a short distance from Old Town Mesilla and people hotels. The facility, particularly the barn, is well thought out both for horses and driving in and out. We look forward to return visits whenever we are in the Las Cruces area.". . . (1/7/14) - "Very nice barn with big stalls, easy access and close to I-10 and trail riding close by. They clean your stalls, provide a water tub and a feed tank. RV hookups with level place to park. Highly recommend this place.". . . (4/10/14) - "Everything was great. We even stayed an extra day. Host was very friendly & made us feel at home.". . . (6/21/14) - "Shannon was the perfect host. We had trouble finding his facility but we came in at 12:30 AM. Finally found it and Shannon had everything set up for us. I highly recommend this facility for traveling.". . . (8/9/14) - "The picture doesn't do the place justice. This is a wonderful place to keep your horses. Clean, secure, easy access. Shannon was so helpful and we enjoyed shooting the bull with him. He is knowledgeable, willing to help, and friendly. THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY when traveling through Las Cruces. See Ya, Shannon, and thanks again.". . . (3/29/15) - "We wish every horse motel across the U.S. could be like the Las Crusces Horse Motel! Clean facility, spacious and safe pens in a quiet setting for our tired traveling horses. Great management, eager to meet our needs and make sure we are comfortable. Easy on/off expressway. Great job, 5 star stay.". . . (2/9/16) - "We stayed at Las Cruces Horse Motel two different times, once on the way out to AZ and on our return trip home. Both times we had an excellent experience! Very nice facility, clean, safe and accommodating. Very easy to get our big rigs in and out. We will stay again if we go through Las Cruces! Thank You!!". . . (2/17/16) - "A very nice, neat & clean place. Large, clean stalls, nice arena, good overall space & facilities. Would definitely stay here again."

Comments: (10/1/13) - "Very accommodating. Friendly and will stay again.". . . (3/20/14) - "Great friendly people. Found them when my wife was traveling by herself. They helped her out with whatever she needed. Very close to I-25 and the motels. We have stayed there 2 times in the last 6 months and will stay there again next year.". . . (4/7/14) - "Great stay! Greg was friendly and accommodating. We left three horses in pens and went to the motel, which was only about 1/2 mile away. Later it started to rain and I called Greg to see if I could move one inside. He said no problem and did it all for me. What a nice stay. Very secure. We will stay there again. April 6, 2014.". . . (3/23/15) - "Wonderfully located immediately off the highway and extremely friendly and helpful staff. My horse was very happy to play in the indoor arena for a while before settling into a stall/run for the evening. Hotels and restaurants were very convenient as well.". . . (2/17/16) - "This was the second time we overnighted here and found the same friendly, accommodating hosts. My horse was able to stretch in the indoor arena and the pens are good sized. A very happy experience again."

Comments:  (Editor's Comments: Due to the large amount of feedback we have received on this facility, all of it positive, we've posted only the more recent comments. We thank everybody who has sent in so many nice comments.)
(11/14/04) - "We were staying at this place because Red Rock State Park was filled due to Inter Tribal Ceremonies taking place. What a great find! There's no indoor stalls, so if you are hung up on having indoor stalls, forget it. There's soft bedding and you can put your own, too, if you want. Great accommodations and very secure. The owner lives on the premises. When we travel throught next year, we are staying here again. He met us even though it was 2am!". . .(2/1/05) - "Good place to stay, close to the freeway, not too hard to find. The hosts are very friendly, and the stalls were adequate. Nice lights to load in the dark, plenty of space to turnaround a large trailer.". . .(2/4/05) - "Close to motels, good trailer access, clean, nice people and helpful.". . .(8/27/05) - "We arrived late at night and were met at a local truckstop and guided to the facilities. The facilities were very nice and a well needed rest for our horse. They had one of the easiest lots to turn a long trailer in that we encountered. We will definitely stay here again.". . .(9/7/05) - "We have stayed here 4 times, Great people!! We never worry about our horses or trailer when we are here.". . .(11/10/06) - "Great folks, very accommodating, secure, gated entrance, positive feedback.". . .(11/27/07) - "This place was awesome. We came in late with two cranky horses and the owner was up and waiting for our call so he could meet us to bring us in and help us will all our needs. He was helpful and very nice and I would use this Motel again, and I will refer him to all I know.". . .(12/14/07) - "JP's was fantastic! The gate was large so that we were able to pull in with a large LQ trailer. The stalls were clean. J.P. was a wonderful host. We were so pleased that we made a point of stopping there again on the way home. I would highly recommend this facility.". . .(9/5/08) - "Real nice host, ample facilities for an overnight. No electricity for horse camper. I'd say A- and the only reason for the minus is there's a train that goes by about every 1/2 hour. Bring earplugs.". . . (8/19/09) - "Our first time here and we'll be back. Pat took excellent care of our horses. Stalls were clean and safe. Access was excellent. Thanks again cowboy, we'll be back!". . . (5/14/11) - "Don't judge a book by it's cover......Pat was a wonderful host and is full of interesting stories about his life as a cowboy, military man, etc. He was very knowledgeable about horses and very accommodating. He has a huge parking area that even allowed us to turn around our 34 foot U-Haul with a 16 foot tandem truck hauler attached. He also had no problems with us leaving the U-Haul and dropping our trailer overnight so we could go eat and get a motel, which was within 3-5 miles of this facility. Gates are locked at night and the security of the facility was more than adequate. Great price for the stalls, we paid $10/night. We really enjoyed JP's company and will definitely stay again. Absolutely recommend! THANKS PAT!". . . (12/5/12) - "I stayed here with my two horses when I was moving from Nebraska to California in early 2010. It's taken me too long, but I still remember how well my horses were cared for, how friendly and helpful the owner (and his dog!) were, and how fair the prices were.". . . (5/29/13) - "I was hauling 2 horses from Indianapolis, IN to Pahrump, Nevada. I had stopped at 2 other horse motels in Missouri and Texas. I had bad experiences with the previous 2 and expected this place to be the same. But Pat, the elderly owner, showed more stamina and cowboy friendliness than the previous 2 combined. He was helpful, informative, and his motto that "horses are kings at his place" was true in every action. I also had a damaged tire on my trailer and he allowed me to leave it there so I could get a replacement tire. He went out of his way to assist me. I cannot say enough good things about his hospitality and professionalism. His place was not the most beautiful place but by far the most accommodating and secure. I highly recommend this place.". . . (2/17/16) - "Hard to find in the dark. The 2 mile mark is Alpha Street on the South side. Good space and friendly hostess. Only problem for my horse was being the only one there."

Electric and water conveniently located. Host was very prompt and very accommodating. Very relaxing, no interstate noise. I'll be staying there again.". . . (7/19/10) - "Owning a Horse Motel in Wy., you have to work with people who have emergencies. We were headed N. got stranded in a spring storm, all roads were closed out of Raton. Host was so good to work with us with not much notice. Nice to stay at a safe place, to let your horses relax. Will stay again in our travels.". . . (4/13/11) - "Minda has the triple crown here. Incredibly EZ to get to, well maintained, terrific stalls with attached turn out, inexpensive motel a couple of miles from the barn. Perfect! Walt has been here before, and the quality of care is consistent. Thank you Minda!". . . (10/29/11) - "Stayed there in June 2011. Nice. Will be staying there again in October 2011.". . . Will definitely stay there again when in the area!". . . (11/8/12) - "This is a great place to overnight. Linda didn't just help with our horse but helped us find a tire dealer since we blew a tire on the trailer on the way to Raton. Her hospitality was such that it felt like home. Our return trip was just as nice. Highly recommend.". . . (6/27/13) - "Lisa is a welcoming host and everything is exactly as you would like it to be. This is the second time we have stayed here, and will stay again for sure!". . . (9/1/13) - "This is a very clean & comfortable facility with easy access to the interstate, lodging & food. My horse and I were treated well and this is a highly recommended horse motel; your horse will love it!". . . (6/25/15) - "We had a great night with our two horses here. The corrals are large and everything was very clean. We were also able to use the arena which is huge and enjoy a trail ride on the property. Conveniently located to the interstate and some restaurants.". . . (7/28/15) - "The only place that could be nicer is our own home. Top facility, other stables we've used in our travels could take lessons from Glen Bruton.". . . (3/26/16) - "Just wonderful ! Very clean, well maintained and safe facilities. We called a couple of hours ahead of time and everything was ready when we arrived. Excellent, friendly, and knowledgable host!!". . . (4/30/16) - "Convenient to interstate, friendly, clean, safe. (4/27/15) - "You will never find a more hospitable horse motel that has the best cinnamon rolls ever! These people are dedicated hosts with a passion for their work! We were stuck in Roswell in a blizzard, with all the roads closed to our next destination. This couple took such wonderful care of us and my horse! Number 1 in our book!", , , (6/2/15) - "Bobby and Jesse are wonderful people and they took great care of the horses. They made us feel welcomed and even waited up for us because we were arriving late. We would definitely recommend stopping there for your horses.". . . (7/18/15) - "Great facilities! Not a blade of grass out of place. Easy access for big rigs. Plenty of parking and protection for the horses if bad weather is predicted. Thanks so much J Bar C; we will be back.". . . (7/19/15) - "COME HERE. Awesome home made cinnamon rolls and a hook up for free A/C.". . . (8/4/15) - "We didn't get in until 3 in the morning and they were both out there to greet us. Great place. Very, very clean! And they offered to feed our horses breakfast so we could sleep in! We will definitely plan our routes around stopping at this place. They were absolutely the nicest people and extremely accommodating! Just can't say enough.". . . (9/24/15) - "Super clean and safe facility for horses and lovely RV spaces. They got up incredibly early to accommodate our schedule and made fresh homemade cinnamon rolls for 4:30am breakfast on their porch. Jess & Bobby were AMAZING hosts! Highly recommend.". . . (10/18/15) - "Wonderful place, wonderful people, and wonderful (award-winning) cinnamon rolls! My daughter and I stayed overnight on our way to the Morgan Grand Nationals, and wouldn't have considered staying anywhere else on the way back home. The Chessers went out of their way to make us and our horse comfortable. The stalls and turn outs were good sized and well maintained. Jesse cleaned out my trailer in the pouring rain when we arrived, and accompanied us to the gas station in the wee hours of the morning... just to make sure we were safe. On our return trip, we all had pizza for supper, and Bobby treated us to one of her delicious salads, and ice cream on the porch for dessert. We feel like we have family in NM now - and look forward to seeing them again!". . . (12/4/15) - "We feel like we have made new friends that we will return to every year. Loved the wonderful roomy pens for our horses and the wonderful clean yard. Horses loved running in the huge arena after being cooped up in the trailer. Friendly hosts, friendly dog, great cinnamon rolls and coffee for breakfast. Jesse and Bobby have gone the extra mile to make their place special.". . . (1/1/16) - "Awesome horse people who make you feel totally comfortable leaving your horses in their care overnight. Called them late and they made time in their evening on New Years Eve to see us in. The next morning we had a heck of a time getting a warmblood weanling back onto the trailer. We finally got her on after an hour and a half of trying everything under the sun and at the end of it they were still patient and more than willing to help. Facilities are excellent- clean, well built and immaculately maintained. From now on we will change our yearly cross country trip route to make sure we get the opportunity to stop at their facilities.". . . (1/18/16) - "Jesse and Bobby were SO nice and gracious hosts! We came in later than expected and they were so generous! They had coffee and cinnamon rolls ready for humans, and the horse facilities were top notch! Very clean, very safe, adequate room for the horses to stretch and sleep.". . . (2/17/16) - "This is a first rate place and the best we stayed at out of 6 places on our trip. Bobby & Jesse are wonderfully welcoming, the ranch, pens, arena & sheds are immaculate. Water & hay feeders were clean & washed. Double gates for security were great. The cinnamon rolls were fantastic! We would look forward to staying at the J Bar C again. Thank you!!". . . (3/9/16) - "This is an excellent facility! The horse pens/turnout and arena are clean and well maintained. Jesse and Bobby are wonderful hosts. I highly recommend the J Bar C!". . . (5/16/16) - "This is a great place to board your horses....Lucky and Happy feel right at home and safe. The people like this place too.... Jesse and Bobby are the best."

Comments: (3/24/13) - "Our hostess, Grace, met us at the local truck stop to direct us into the stable. She went out of her way to make sure we and our horses were made comfortable. She is friendly and caring, a real plus for weary travelers with animal needs. I would stay here again and send anyone I knew here. Thank you.". . . (11/27/13) - "We were traveling from Las Vegas, NV to northeast Texas and needed to overnight our horse at the half-way point, which was Tucumcari, NM. We made a reservation at Casetta Critter Care and immediately received a response. Not only did Lila Grace, the barn manager, communicate with us promptly, she went above and beyond to help us. Because of trailer problems, we did not get to Tucumcari until 12:30 a.m.-- she met us at the road to guide us in to the barn, helped us get our horse secured, and then guided us to the intersection in town that would lead us to the hotel where we were staying. I was amazed at the level of personal service and courtesy. Although not "fancy" the barn was clean, with shavings in the stall, covered, secured and she had water waiting on us. I would recommend this facility.". . . (1/4/14) - "Grace and her mom drove 100 miles to come get me and my horses when we broke down in Texas (yes, that's a total of 200 miles). I ended up there for several days. These ladies are horse people and gracious hosts.". . . (3/19/14) - "I'm traveling a lot and CCC in Tucumcari, NM is and will be my first choice along I-40 if it is time for a rest! Thank you Grace for your hospitality!". . . (4/17/14) - "Nothing beats having your horses' stalls ready for you after driving all day. Stalls had fresh shavings and water. Barn manager was right there to help with any of our needs. I would stay there again.". . . (11/16/14) - "After a long haul it was nice to get to turn out my horse before putting her in a nice box stall for the night. Would definitely stay here again.". . . (1/8/16) - "Wonderful hosts with a great facility. Would recommend to anyone who is passing through the area. Bunkhouse has everything you would need whether it is an unplanned stop or planned. Very clean for both you and your horse."
