(11/13/15) - "I have traveled from Montana for 6 months every winter for the past 5 years and have experienced more layovers than I can count. Little Creek is on the top of my list. My plan for a one night layover turned into 3 weeks. My horses had a large green pasture with shelter and my trailer site overlooked the beautiful ranch with it's rose bushes, gardens, and 2 quaint cottages which are available for those who would like a respite from trailer living. Debbie, her husband, Jeffery, and their 4 sons were an absolute delight and I consider them lifelong friends. Downtown Ashland is only 3 miles from the ranch and is gorgeous in it's own right. This gem of a ranch is sure to be on the top of anyone's list who is lucky enough to experience it.". . . (6/18/16) - "We stayed at Little Creek Ranch both to and from our trip to California. Debbie was right there to greet us each time. The horses accommodations are spacious and comfortable. The Country Cottage is amazing; well appointed and comfortable. On the way back we stayed in the Garden Studio which was small but comfortable and very cute. We are planning on returning to Little Creek in the future for a riding vacation. Highly recommend.". . . (9/10/16) - "Host was extremely helpful and accommodating, I'll definitely overnight horses at the Little Creek Ranch in the future.". . . (7/23/17) - "For women who are professional horse transporters we see many facilities. I have to say that Debbie was a very kind and accommodating lady. She made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including the horses needs. She offered us a spot under a Willow tree right next to the pond. The barn and paddocks were so clean, nice and spacious. The grounds were beyond beautiful and so peaceful allowing for a very restful lay over for us, our dogs and horses.". . . (10/14/18) - "We stayed there a week traveling up the state and then again as we travelled back down to CA. I found Debbie and her entire family to be caring and delightful people. I would recommend this place wholeheartedly.". . . (8/5/19) - "Great layover spot.". . . (12/2/20) - "Hands down, not just amazing accommodations for the horses but the hosts were above and beyond. Debbie was able to get me in last minute and was extremely helpful as I settled in. My two horses had great big stalls with a big run attached. The following morning of our stay I had an issue hooking up my LQ, I broke off the electrical cord, Wayne was extremely kind and helpful. Came to save us and fixed what had been broken; he even went to the store to pick up a tool for us. Such a great place with amazing hosts. Definitely want to come back and visit this beautiful stop and see these people again! Highly recommend.". . . (12/20/21) - "Wonderful place to stay. Clean, room to turn LQ around, nice horse facilities. She also has nice cabins. Debbie kindly met us at the road, as it was dark when we rolled in. Very friendly and welcoming. Thank you, Debbie.". . . (5/25/23) - "Amazing place to stay with horses! Right off I-5 and excellent set up with roomy paddocks and multiple accommodations for people too! Host was very communicative and helpful. Picturesque and peaceful spot, wish we could have stayed longer!". . . (2/5/24) - "Debbie's place is great! It feels like being in Tolkein's "shire" even though you are only like 2 minutes from Ashland proper. My horse had a MASSIVE bedded stall and a huge turnout, which I appreciated because she had a rough/long travel day prior to arriving. Beautiful setting, sanitized stall and water bucket, friendly host, wildlife and scenery--what's not to love? The only thing to note is that the paddocks have "pass thru's" i.e. super skinny openings for humans to squeeze through rather than using the full size gates. An exceptionally stupid horse might try to fit through a pass thru also, although mine isn't stupid or skinny so she didn't try. :) Overall, this place is a 10! I will be back."

(2/5/10) - "This is a very attractive and safety oriented facility with horses in mind! The accommodations are inviting to both horse and owner with super friendly staff and an obvious love of the horse. I have stayed here several times, never to be let down and have always been made to feel like my horses are family. MUCH RECOMMENDED!". . . (10/19/10) - "Warm, friendly staff. The facility was clean, safe with easy access to the interstate. Highly recommend and will stay there again!". . . (3/2/13) - " I found this facility to be of an exceptional value and the owner, Leslie, was a pleasure to work with! I am one of those "nervous nelly" horse owners - who has to worry about every little thing. Well, there was nothing to worry about here. The horses drank the fresh spring water like they had never had water before in their lives! The indoor arena provided a great place to let them stretch their legs and take a roll after the long days journey. The stalls were large - well bedded and very safe. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND this facility to anyone traveling this route looking for a safe place to lay over!". . . (4/5/15) - "Only comment is directions were a tad misleading. When you Exit at 302 you don't go straight for 4 miles; after about a mile you take a right turn onto Hughes Lane and then go 6 more miles. It's almost 8 miles from the Freeway but worth the drive! Other than a spin thru the town of Baker City it was a wonderful spot and we will definetly go back. Dog friendly as well.". . . (4/7/16) - "Eastern Slope Ranch was perfect! Called them short notice and they were right there to put us up with my large half draft mare. Gracious, friendly and professional, great setup for the horse, easy in/out with the trailer and close to town. Oh, and they had some beautiful horses my mare could see from her stall to keep her calm. Will definitely lay over here again if I am in the area!". . . (12/13/17) - "This facility was great. Very friendly people, clean and well maintained facilities. My horse and I were welcomed and comfortable: my horse in his stall and me in the guest cabin.I would stay here again and recommend this place to others.". . . (11/10/21) - "5 star stay, big easy access to facility, big secure stalls, electricity available, we would definitely stay again!". . . (5/13/23) - "Manager Teresa met me upon arrival, showed me around, including where to unload my horse and stall him. Very clean, including indoor arena to let him walk out the strain of travelling. Great place to overnight your horse/horses. Thank you Eastern Slope Ranch for the great service."

(7/1/15) - "This is one of the nicest layover facilities I have ever been to, and I have hauled all over the country. Christy couldn't have been nicer, especially since we had some issues and arrived very late. The horses were very happy and the living quarters is so cute!!! One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Everything is so well appointed and thought out for the traveler. I would love to go back there and stay for a few days instead of just over one night. I would highly recommend it to anyone passing through Bend, Oregon!". . . (11/24/15) - "This is an exceptional place to stay. It's safe, clean and comfortable for the horses. And the apartment is so cute and very clean. Christy, the owner, is very gracious and hospitable. This is the second time we have stayed here and we will stay here again in the future. I highly recommend it!!", , , (11/26/15) - "This is an exceptional place to stay. This is the second time we have stayed here and we will stay here again in the future. I highly recommend it!!". . . (5/23/16) - "Stayed here while moving cross-country. By far the best part of the trip. We got in extremely late but Christy was at the end of the driveway with a flashlight so we didn't miss the turn. Our horses were able to be turned out in a large pasture overnight to relax after a long day in the trailer. This was outstanding as they are not used to being kept in a stall so were very comfortable and settled right in. However there were plenty of large stalls available as well if desired. Fantastic pull through parking even for large trailers and trucks. Highly recommended and we will certainly stay here again if ever hauling horses in the area. Christy truly went way above and beyond to make sure all animals, kids and grownups were fully taken care of.". . . (7/26/16) - "Beautiful and super clean facility! Horses were able to stretch their legs in the round pen and the stalls were super clean. The guest room was amazing and I will definitely be back!". . . (5/3/18) - "Absolutely the best, friendliest place for both human and equine. Our mules/horses were in heaven and the human loft was incredible! We plan on making this stay yearly. You can ride right out their back door.". . . (9/16/18) - " Hands Down THE BEST overnight destination spot in Oregon! Super accommodations; clean, complete, and with the utmost attention to every detail! We would travel over 100 miles off our route just to stay here! Thank you Christy for the most relaxing and much needed pampering for our dogs, our horse and his humans.". . . (5/16/22) - "Hands down, the BEST place I have stayed (and I travel from Florida to Montana each year). My horse was given a huge pasture turn out and the apartment is 5 stars. Will be back next year for sure!!!!". . . (7/27/23) - "DeCourcey Ranch is absolutely beautiful. My horses were allowed to stay in a lovely irrigated grass pasture, the entire property is clean and tidy, and there's an apartment for rent as well! EVERYTHING about this property is immaculate. Christy is incredibly helpful, she answered any questions that I had, had very clear communication, and was immediately available to show me around when I pulled in. I 100% would stay here again and highly recommend it to others!!"

Comments: (2/5/23) - "Absolutely amazing facility. Our horse had a hard time getting back in the rig, Kenneth was helpful and skilled. Beautiful large, clean stalls. A plus!". . . (4/13/23) - "Ken and Paula are wonderful! So helpful and kind and their place is gorgeous. Beautiful views of the valley and very well equipped barn with nice size stalls and runs. They so graciously provided me pictures and updates as my horse awaited transport pickup. I would trust them to care for my horses again without hesitation. If you have a chance to stay- DO IT! You won’t be disappointed.". . . (8/16/23) - "Lovely stay in a lovely spot! Appreciated that our horses could stretch their legs in the pasture nearby after a long haul. Kenneth was welcoming and very communicative. The bunkhouse was adorable and so comfortable! Would stay again!". . . (10/5/23) - "What a perfect and peaceful stay. There was plenty of room in the pasture to exercise my horse, and he enjoyed riding next to the cattle neighbors! It was easy for me to haul my horse out to nearby trails, Prescott Park was a beautiful one. The hosts were so nice and generous. The cabin is so cozy and made me want to stay longer! It was a perfect trip and I can’t wait for the opportunity to stay again. Ken was communicative and so helpful, even when I arrived after dark!". . . (2/24/24) - "Ken was an absolutely amazing host. The facility was extremely clean and the setup was perfect for our TB. We loved the bunkhouse. It was so nice to have a cozy place to sleep and rest while our horse was just a few steps away. Highly recommend!"

Comments: (10/14/18) - "Stayed a month and found our home-away-from-home. Shelley and her family made us feel welcome and provided our horses with excellent care. She even took us on a ride we'll never forget in the beautiful hills adjacent to the ranch. Highly recommended.". . . (8/27/21) - "I was relocating to Washington from California and needed a place to over night my older gelding as the 17ish hours would have been very hard on him. Strawberry Hill Stables is a nice small "mom &pop" facility (8-10 stalls). They offered options for my horse to either be in a fenced small pasture turnout or in a stall for the same small price (I chose the stall). The stall was clean and they provided bedding. It was warm for our over night stay so my hosts provided my horse with a fan for the night. They were very accommodating for both my horse, my small dog and myself. I camped out in the back of my trailer and couldn't have felt saver (and no extra charge for my stay). Shelly's husband even ran me a long extension cord so I could have my own fan. Not only would I stay here again (with or without my horse) but I have told all my friends who travel with their horses that this is the place to stay when going through Oregon."

Comments: (10-24-13) - "Mary was very friendly, made us very comfortable. The stall for my equine was large and well bedded, and she could see but not interact with other horses, making her feel not all alone. I would definitely stay here again.". . . (10/4/14) - "Mary was incredible! She did all she could to make our stay effortless. I was originally looking for a place with in and out stalls so my horses could stretch out more from the journey, but since she was all that was offered in that area we stayed there. It was a great choice! The stalls were safe and clean and well bedded. The horses were side by side and could see each other so they were happy! She also had a ring and other areas to let them run around a bit, so that worked out well. We also stayed in her B&B - that was wonderful! Such a cute and clean place - so quaint. It was also nice to be there right with the horses. I would definitely stay here again if the need arises.". . . (6/23/15) - "Mary was a very hospitable hostess. My friend and I stayed there as a layover on our way home to California after camping throughout Oregon with our horses. Mary greeted us like we were old friends, helping us get settled with our horses in her guest barn. The horses had nice size stalls, bedded with clean fresh bedding. She helped us settle our large LQ horse trailer in her driveway, and provided water and electricity. She was helpful in every way possible. Her place was clean, we felt the horses were comfortable, and we could not have asked for more. Mary even sold me a bale of hay since I was running low. We will stay there again if we are ever traveling this route again.". . . (5/29/19) - "My friend and I and our 3 horses stayed here for one night on the last leg of our 1,200 mile trek. Mary was right there to greet us upon our arrival and was extremely helpful with getting us all settled in. She provided a turnout paddock so our horses could get some much needed leg stretching in and then we put them in stalls in her very clean and well appointed guest barn. The rooms we were provided were clean and positively lovely. The next morning Mary prepared a wonderful breakfast for us and saw us on our way. I would absolutely stay there again if the need ever arises. Fabulous place!". . . (3/2/21) - "All worked out very well for our overnight stopover and Mary's communication before, during and after our stay was excellent. Our two horses were comfortable and safe in the guest barn, and the guest RV B&B was clean and comfortable as well."

Comments: (11/14/21) - "The hostess was absolutely fantastic made us feel very welcomed and confident that my gelding was in very good hands for the night. She went above and beyond to help us in everyway. Even let us know how he was doing before bedtime. I would highly recommend this for the traveling horse owners to stop there and know that everything will be good when you return in the morning to pick up. Would definitely stay again if and when the need arises. November 11, 2021.". . . (12/19/22) - "Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Cute facility, nice corrals, easy access and less then 5 miles to hotels and food. Very happy with our experience and highly recommend this horse hotel.". . . (7/23/23) - "Great place for your horses and very accommodating!". . . (11/3/23) - "I stayed here in mid-October for one night on my way through traveling from Oregon to Nebraska and then stayed one night on my way back to Oregon. Jennifer was so nice and made sure that my two horses were well taken care of. The place has plenty of space to turn around and it was nice and quiet. I will definitely be back when I travel with my horses again.". . . (12/29/23) - "We rolled in short notice with 7 horses and 2 LQ’s….pens were all ready with waters done. Nice size pens, great fencing, large turn around, close to hwy, Jennifer was amazing! Highly recommend this place!!!"

Comments: (3/5/13) - "I chose Kirchem Farm to overnight with three horses based upon location; Oregon City was the approximate half way point between Davis, CA and Vernon, BC, Canada. Cher, the co-owner, was waiting for me when I arrived. There is plenty of room for large trailers here. I had no problem maneuvering a 1-ton crew cab long box truck with 4-horse LQ gooseneck trailer attached. We unloaded the horses into a nice grassy pasture so they could stretch and relax after 10 hours in the trailer. About an hour later, I moved the horses into their overnight accommodations which consisted of open, airy shelters attached to the indoor arena. The shelters had clean shavings, automatic watering bowls, and opened into nice large corrals. After horses were tended to, I had a good dinner at the sports bar located nearby. There are several motels within a 15 minute drive, but I elected to stay at the farm. Though convenient to the I-205 freeway, Kirchem Farm is a quiet place to overnight; with wind in the trees and frogs croaking, I felt like I was back home already. The facility and fencing is safe for horses and everything here is organized and kept in immaculate condition. The friendly hosts, Cher and Reg, live within 100 yards of the barn/arena. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely visit again!". . . (3/30/14) - "This facility was wonderful; the horses could not be more comfortable and the hosts were incredibly accommodating. It made the journey south in the winter a pleasant experience; lovely people own this place. Thank you.". . . (11/30/22) - "Beautiful farm and lovely big stalls with runs for my 2 horses to stretch out after a long day of travel. Gracious & friendly hosts. Very accommodating. Private and quiet area about 15 min drive to hotel. Food nearby. They were also ok with having my dog on the property as well.". . . (1/20/23) - "Reg and Cher were amazing hosts! Cher greeted us when we arrived and was quick to show us our stalling options. The facility was beautiful and well-maintained. It was very horse-friendly and safe. The next morning, we found ourselves with a flat tire on the trailer due to a bad valve stem. Reg came to our aid, allowing us to make the appointment we were there for. They also offered several backup options in case we needed them. Cher checked in with us to make sure we made it to our next stop safely! Reg and Cher were truly amazing!"

If anyone is traveling thru Oregon, if need be, go out of your way and stay with Mary Alice. We are planning on our drives back to Colorado and we will stay with Mary Alice with or without a horse. Treat yourself and your animals to a wonderful place and stay with Mary Alice.". . .(8/2/04) - "My husband and I were more tired than we thought, and we called the night before to schedule an extra stop and she was more than accommodating. We got there in the middle of some kind of wind storm, but my mare was made comfortable with nice hay and my husband and I were very comfortable in the upstairs apartment. The apartment was great, thank you very much.". . .(7/31/05) - "Beautiful accommodations for people and horses. Lots of extras. Very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay!!". . .(6/18/06) - "Beautiful facility with cozy, clean apartment. Hosts are very accommodating. Would definitely stay again. A barn that dreams are made of.". . .(10/11/08) -"We spent the night in the apartment above the barn on Oct 4, 2008. Although we arrived later than originally planned, the host was very gracious. Mary Alice was not there, but her husband helped us with everything we needed. We definitely will stop there again!! Their place is terrific!". . . (2/3/11) - "Mary Alice made me feel right at home. I would recommend Neigh-bors without hesitation.". . . (8/13/12) - "MaryAlice was a wonderful host. The cabin was beautiful, clean and even the refrigerator was stocked with necessities. It was a very welcome stay after a long journey from a colt starting clinic in Texas. My 2 yr old gelding enjoyed his stay and had plenty of room with a corral and open box stall. I could see him right below our window which was an added treat. Highly recommended and will visit again. It is located in a suburban community and the driveway is a bit steep, but we had no trouble with our 3 horse GN in tow.". . . (10/10/15) - "Wonderful facility. I did not rate the adequacy of stalls because I wanted my horses out where they could roam and move after having been kept in a trailer most of the day. Mary Alice had a wonderful, safely fenced pasture that was perfect. I will stay here again."

They let us use their kitchen, then cooked breakfast in the morning. The stalls are well kept and clean. They let us turnout and work my horse in their indoor arena. Wonderful people and wonderful facilities. Highly recommend!!". . . (5/25/23) - "Great facility to overnight with horses in between California and British Columbia! Hosts were excellent to communicate with and flexible to accomodate our travelling caravan of horses, dogs and people. We were set up with safe, spacious stalls for the horses, dry camping, power for an RV and a comfortable bedroom in the house - a welcome treat after 17 days in a tent! We were welcomed warmly and sent off with a delicious batch of warm blueberry muffins for breakfast! Gosh they were good! Facility was not too far off I-5 and there was ample space for parking and turning around. Stalls were all ready for us with clean shavings and fresh water - which was much appreciated after a long day on the road. There was a nice indoor arena attached to the stall area for the horses to stretch their legs and have a good roll in. Would definitely stop in again.". . . (8/30/23) - "It was late in the day and after several negative attempts for the night, the phone was answered by a very kind lady. We were still several hours out. She said, "we'll leave the lights on and see you in the morning" after telling us where to park. We didn't arrive until about 2 am. Facility was easy to find and had everything the horses needed. Because of the hour, we just slept in the truck. Owners came out in the am with coffee and snacks. It was my first experience with a horse motel and I can't imagine one any better. Highly recommend.". . . (10'5'23) - "Very friendly, welcoming hosts, large indoor arena for horses to stretch their legs and roll, spacious stalls. Hosts allowed us to dump our tanks in their sewer outlet. 30 amp camping hookup with a water hose available. Large place for turn around. We will return."
