Comments: (5/14/07) - "Huge stalls! Hosts were wonderful and accommodating. So nice to walk up to the house without unhooking the trailer. Would stay again!". . .(12/6/08) - "Judy is a wonderful hostess! Nice large stall was waiting for my horse, and a delicious dinner was waiting for me! Beautiful house, wonderful, comfortable room... felt more like coming home than stopping over. Best night's sleep I've had in years. Will definitely stay there again whenever I have a chance!". . . (7/13/16) - "Judy was extremely nice and accommodating. She made sure that we were comfortable and happy and gave us free run of her entire property and kept us entertained for the rest of the day and into the night. She fixed us dinner, a wonderful chicken Marsala, and walked with us out to the pasture where her foals were and let us go out and play with them while she told us about their breeding and futures. If I ever need a place to layover with horses on this route again, I will definitely be coming back to Windy Ridge!"

(Editor's Comments): Due to the large amount of feedback we have received on this facility, all of it positive, we've posted only the more recent comments. We thank everybody who has sent in so many nice comments.)
(3/11/17) - "Great place being built and we were the second guest! Loads of pasture and we preferred leaving our horses out in the field all night! Since we were in the road for three days..thanks Adele!". . . (4/3/17) - "Steve and Adele have a super place with large, safe, clean stalls. It's easy to access and lots of space for parking. We stayed overnight in our trailer. We will definitely choose their facility next time we come through PA. Lovely folks!". . . (4/13/17) - "The owners went out of their way to make sure our horse's stay was a pleasant one. We were able to leave our trailer on site when we went to the motel just down the street. The owners also gave us detailed directions for restaurants in the area. Later that night Adele texted us a photo of our horses showing how content they were. I highly recommend this facility for anyone traveling I-80. Convenient, super clean and safe!". . . (4/26/17) - "I'd highly recommend Keystone Horse Center for horse travelers. Adele was at a horse show when we stayed but she ensured her caretaker was there and that we were taken care of. There was lots of grass to graze and wide-open areas for stretching horse legs tired from being on the road. It's easy to find and get to and there was plenty of space to maneuver and park trailers near the barn. The stall was nice and safe and had a barred window It opened so that it looked over the pasture and had a nice breeze for my horse.". . . (6/10/17) - "Will recommend to all my friends.". . . (9/23/17) - "The stay was very nice. Adele was pleasant to deal with and everything was great with the facilities. My trainer said everything was clean and neat and would recommend to anyone looking for a spot to stop.". . . (11/8/17) - "We have hauled a lot, and everyone knows that picture lighting and angles can make things look better than in real life. Not so with Keystone! The pictures you see are absolutely representative of their facility. Their efficiency apartment in the barn was immaculate (it's even bigger in real life!), and everything was warm and cozy. It gave off a very "homey" welcoming feel. We were supposed to arrive at 6-7pm, and were delayed quite a bit. Adele waited to welcome us until we actually arrived at 1am, and her huge smile and positive attitude made us feel at home after a long, hard haul. She took us in the barn, showed us our CLEAN stalls which already had a brand new bag of bedding in them, and then showed us where we were staying. Water spigot for the horses was just feet from our stalls, and our usually picky horse drank with no complaints. The barn was quiet and peaceful, and our horses were comfortable enough to sleep down. Seriously, not one complaint could be made here. Friendly, CLEAN, affordable, and easy to find. If you are comparing horse motels in this area, you are screwing up if you don't choose this one.". . . (12/17/17) - "I would highly recommend staying at Keystone Horse Center in PA. Beautiful facility providing excellent accommodations for horses and owners. Stalls are big, clean, and airy. Our horse had plenty of room to stretch out and rest up. Also, Adele is amazing with her professionalism and hospitality. She made sure we had everything we needed to have a nice stay. Even when we had truck trouble she looked up service stations for us and everything. Thank you Adele, we will be back!!". . . (3/9/18) - "Adele and her team were fantastic! There were some winter storms passing through my route and she made sure to keep me updated on conditions in PA for me to make the safest decision while hauling. The on-site apartment is a gem! Super comfy bed, and right upstairs from my horse! I would gladly stay here again.". . . (3/31/18) - "Adele was friendly and accommodating. Staying in the apartment on site was wonderful after a long day of travel. Facilities for both horse and human were accurately portrayed and well appointed. Thank you for a lovely night!". . . (5/23/18) - "Keystone Horse Center is a very nice, newly renovated facility. Adele was very accommodating. She checked on our horses throughout the evening. We definitely will be using this facility again.". . . (7/31/18) - "We stayed in our own LQ trailer so I have no idea about proximity to restaurants or motels. Camping area had great hookup and very easy to get in with any size rig. Stall was immaculate and my mare was very comfortable. Enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Keystone for anyone. Very convenient location just minutes away from I-80.". . . (8/9/18) - "The owner is conscientious. Place is clean and safe. Easy on and off. Truck stop down the way so all things you need are accessible. Lowes, Home Depot and more within a few miles. This is an excellent facility to use when headed east or westbound on Route 80 and you just can't make it home! Stay with confidence. Affordable!! Written by a Cowgirl."

Comments: (5/26/15) - "We arrived late, (5/5/15), yet Ira and his wife were outside to greet us with friendly smiles and a lush, green paddock for our passenger. Will definitely call on them again.". . . (9/22/16) - "I loved the facility. Quiet and small and the owners live on the property. I turned my two horses out in their lovely paddock for the night and the Naiditch's checked on them before they went to bed and texted me that everything was fine. Will definitely return on my next trip north.". . . (10/13/16) - "Great place.....would go back in a heartbeat if we ever come thru again. Great people!". . . (1/3/17) - "Easy, convenient location 5 miles from Interstate 81. Owners/ hosts were gracious and extremely accommodating in providing care for our horses for our overnight stay and recommended a pet friendly hotel for us and our dogs. We will definitely be back when traveling through this area.". . . (4/28/17) - "We stayed in our large, 3 horse slant living quarter trailer. There is plenty of room to turn around. Ira and Sue werre very friendly and helpful; they let us run electricity from their house and even brought us water (we didn't have any in our tank...). My horse stayed out in an approximately 1 acre fenced pasture for the night, which she loved. Stall was available too. We are planning to come back on our next drive through.". . . (7/30/17) - "Very friendly service. My boy had his own paddock for the night and the owners were very helpful in finding a hotel for me as well. Would highly recommend!". . . (4/15/18) - "We arrived pretty tired from a long drive and Ira and Sue Naiditch were friendly and accommodating right from our first meeting. Our horse had spent a previous night in a small stall without an open window or any other horses around. Ira easily accommodated our horse in new surroundings by moving three other horses into the barn to keep our horse happy. The Naiditch's were detail oriented and the barn was clean and pleasant. The next day, our horse was able to stretch and exercise in a wide circular paddock before going back on board for the next day journey. Top notch service and facilities; we will visit again.". . . (6/10/18) - "Very nice overnight stay. Convenient to Highway 81. Our horses enjoyed the lovely mowed pasture while we parked our RV on a nice clean level RV pad. Highly recommend this horse motel!"

Comments: (12/3109) - "This is the perfect place for both rider and mount. Tara and John have provided a private grassy paddock just three steps from the porch of the carriage house. We could sit on the porch or in the suite and watch our horses graze peacefully just a few feet away. The stalls are roomy and clean with rubber mats and pelleted bedding. The owners' horses, while close, don't come in contact with our horses because they are in their own pasture. The icing on the cake was the beautifully decorated suite itself and the three-course breakfast in the morning."

Comments: (9/10/12) - "Very accessible getting to, and once on the property Cindy and Dave were immediately available, warm, and welcoming. Dave even accommodated a special need and removed my horses shoes for me! My horse was given a large, secure, and lush pasture and immediately supplied with buckets of fresh water! I did not require a stall so I can't speak to that, but this facility has been open a short time and was immaculate. I also don't know about local food or housing as I stay in my LQ and I was asked and attended a local fair with the family that evening. I would return any time!". . . (12/3/12) - "This layover place took me when the place I was suppose to stay at didn't tell me that they were in Ohio instead of PA. This place was 15 miles from Rte 74. . . . He had no doors in his stalls; just a piece of chain that went across it. I had three Arab stallions and two were babies. He didn't want the halter to stay on the horse's but yet he did put up two cow panels as doors. . . . . He called the local motel and gave us directions on how to find it. The only thing I wasn't expecting on this trip was getting 2 inches of snow on the road the next day.". . . (2/26/16) - "Very friendly and accommodating even though we called last minute, great turnout pasture. Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay there!". . . (10/8/18) - "These people are very kind & accommodating! Dave put up some panels out in his huge pasture area near the run in shed to cut the size for us so we could catch our horses in the morning. The area is large, which makes it easy to maneuver big rigs They help with everything to make your stay pleasurable. We have stayed here twice already & would definitely stay any time we pass that way."

Comments: (9/2/16) - "Deb was very friendly and helpful. My horse enjoyed access to the large grass arena, smaller paddock, and large matted and bedded stall. Recent rain had made the small paddock muddy. As a bonus, Deb offered us breakfast. Would definitely stay here again."

Comments: (10/6/10) - "Barb and Tony were lovely and willing to do anything to make our horses' and our stay comfortable. Our horses and mini donkeys were totally relaxed in this first rate facility. I would recommend this as a stop to any horse owner.". . . (10/26/10) - "Strongly recommended. Beautiful location & scenery. Great host. Worth the small detour. We'll be back!". . . (6/28/17) - "We stopped by Shady Springs Farm on our way to a 120 km FEI endurance event and were pleasantly surprised by the absolute quality of the facilities. The pastures were beautifully fenced with lush grass, perfect for recovering the horses after the long trailer ride. The automatic waterers in the paddocks and stalls were a wonderful addition to the already high quality facility, and the stalls themselves were large and in an enclosed barn and had a nice drainage setup. The stalls were wood with iron bars on the upper half, very meticulously planned and kept. Not to mention the icing on the cake-- the view alone would be worth a return trip with the mountains encircling the farm and rolling hills creating a rustic picture of perfection. Barb and Tony were so helpful, giving us specific directions to the farm that got us right in the driveway and answering questions and being easilly reachable and welcoming. It's also nice to stay in a place where I got 5 bars of cell signal."

Comments: (3/18/18) - "We highly, highly recommend Northeastern Pennsylvania Equine Clinic and Dr. Ellen L. Johnson! While hauling top show horses from Canada to Florida for years now, we always rely on this top-of-the-line layover to provide reliable, secure, clean, and helpful facilities for our horses. The facilities, staff, and expertise are fantastic, and our hosts always "go the extra mile" to ensure each horse's individual needs are met. Thank you to you and your team... and we will see you again! :D". . . (7/9/18) - "I was so glad I chose to stay with Dr. Ellen Johnson. I was traveling for 3 days from VT to NC to our new home. My horse does not travel well and it was such a stress reliever to have a vet on site to monitor him. As a matter of fact, my horse didn't drink much so Dr. Ellen offered to draw blood and check his levels to be sure he was safe for his next day of travel. I would HIGHLY recommend Northeast Pennsylvania Equine Clinic for an overnight layover."

Comments: (3/20/13) - "The stable is very easy to find, only about 10 minutes off I-81. Curtis and his family are very friendly and always available. We have our horses there for an extended stay as we are working in the area and have been very happy with care our horses recieve. The stalls are large and clean, there is a small indoor arena and a large outdoor arena. There are also lots of trails to go for a ride in the hills around the stable. There are several good restaraunts nearby.". . . (2/19/14) - "These folks were very accommodating and super friendly. They made us feel very welcome on their farm and the price was great! They made us feel at home. Will definitely use them again in my travels and highly recommend them if you are in their area. They are on a dirt road and seemed like we were headed to no where, but they were easy to find and the farm was wonderful!". . . (12/6/14) - "In spite of our late arrival in nearly freezing rain, Curtis met us with lights on, feed and water ready and a big smile. I asked for some last minute changes and he was extremely accommodating. In the morning it was still raining and he allowed us to back into the barn to load. Thanks Curtis!". . . (2/15/15) - "Curtis is a great host. We were traveling from South Carolina back to Vermont. After a big snow storm, he had plowed the area very well and he had stalls ready for our horses and power for our horse trailer. It was -2 below 0, but we were very happy. He even helped me change a tire on the horse trailer. Great stop. Great people."
