Comments: (12/28/21) - "I would highly recommend this facility!! They were very welcoming and the barn is very clean with large stalls. We arrived late and were welcomed and shown into the barn. Great water and hay provided. Barn manager helped us get plugged in and settled!". . . (2/14/22) - "The online booking option made it quick and easy to book. I was extensively delayed and didn't arrive until nearly midnight and it was not an issue at all. I was met by the barn manager and he helped me get myself and my horse settled. "The facilities were great and exactly as advertised."

(10/5/20) - "Elaine is a wonderful host. Beautiful, clean farm and horse facility. Elaine knows all the trails in the area, and might even go out on a ride with you on one of her mules! Nice, level spots to park on ( no hookups). Stunning views of the Tetons! Highly recommend."

Comments: (1/12/23) - "The facility would work in a pinch. Its advertised stalls, stalls with runs and covered pipe corrals. We could only see stalls without runs for use and the pipe corrals that are mentioned for use are full of metal and other junk with no lighting. Overall the lack of lighting and size and security of the actual stalls was the issue. The property did not have a way to secure them into it. Meaning, in the event a horse was able to get out of a stall, they would have free access to run anywhere including busy roads. Would probably work for some with horses that are calm, and super easy. Wouldn't recommend for someone with flighty, big, or stall nervous horses."

Comments: Due to the large amount of feedback we have received on this facility, all of it positive, we've posted only the more recent comments. We thank everybody who has sent in so many nice comments.)
(6/14/11) - "We stopped overnight in Spring 2010; Carol was very welcoming and gracious. I would highly recommend her place as a stopping point. Very quiet area, too, which is a great plus. ". . . (7/31/11) - "This was a great place to stay and keep our horses overnight while we were looking at other things in the area. Comfortable and roomy pens for the horses and relaxing atmosphere.". . . (2/20/14) - ". . . We stayed overnight at Carol's on our way from Calgary, Alberta Canada heading to Reno for a horse show with our two horses. Carol had everything ready for us when we arrived--and we were quite late . The horse barn was spotless and well prepared. We utilized the Bed and Breakfast service Carol offers and it was absolutely wonderful. I would highly recommend Carol's place to anyone travelling through Idaho.". . . (7/8/17) - "Thanks Carol for a nice overnight. Horses were happy and safe. My Smokey fell in love with your palamino!". . . (9/24/17) - "We stayed coming & going on our journey. What a delightful host Carol was. Our horses were very comfortable! We highly recommend Carol's facility and would definitely stay again!". . . (6/5/18) - "Stayed at Carol's with two senior horses I was shipping and Carol was very accommodating! Her place is neat as a pin and the accommodations were perfect for us. Thanks Carol!". . . (9/24/18) - "We broke down and needed last minute accommodations. The stalls were freshly bedded with fresh clean water and gates open upon our late night arrival. Very safe, well maintained stalls, great entry and parking lot for turning around our 4 horse living quarters trailer. Plus a camper hookup meant we could sleep right outside our stalls and keep an eye on our horses. Well lit for loading and unloading. Would absolutely stay here again!". . . (12/12/18) - "Carol was the first stop on our trans-continental journey, and she is the BEST stop. Extremely clean and deeply bedded stalls, ample parking and wonderful hospitality. Thank you Carol, you set a hard standard to beat for the rest of the trip!". . . (7/25/21) - "I have to say that Carol was so amazing. She was so accommodating when we told her that we where arriving late. When we showed up she already had everything ready with a clean stall and two large buckets of water filled up for our horse. Everything was super clean and inviting. There was even a table next to where we set the living quarters up. We would definitely stay there again. 5 stars.". . . (7/24/22) - "We have been staying with Carol for about 7/8 years. Our horses love the outdoor runs.". . . (10/9/22) - "This is a lovely location for a stop over. Carol was there to greet me. Both the ranch and parking area are gated, and there is an outdoor light on at night near the stalls. The parking area is right next to the stalls and is very level. She had fresh water in the stall, and all stalls have shade cover. I don’t know how convenient it is to town because I didn’t leave during my stay, but I did pass several shopping/restaurant areas on my way there.". . . (1/12/23) - "100% raiting for us! She took us in last minute after the facility we planned on stopping at set us on edge. She greeted us at the gate and showed us the stalling options. All 6 large indoor stalls were clean and ready for new guests as well as 2 large outdoor pens with cover pens. Even with wet, winter weather, the outdoor pens were 90ish% dry in areas without cover; covered areas were completely dry. My horses both slept like rocks and were rested and ready for another day of hauling. 10/10, would stay again!"

Comments: (12/19/17) - "Hosts were excellent and super accommodating, even turned my trailer around for me as I came in late in the dark and had a stressful day of traveling. Dogs were able to run around loose and horses were able to socialize with the resident herd over the fence. Do not use the gps marker; it will take you past the driveway and it is not easy to turn around! Also, no cell service once you pass. Would recommend calling ahead as soon as you turn onto their road.". . . (7/31/18) - "Not only was Jennie awake to help me pull in to the correct driveway (at 11 pm), she helped me with unloading the horse. She asked if I needed anything before we both turned in. I felt like I was catching up with an old friend by the time I left. I will definitely be back. Thank you Jennie!!!!!". . . (9/15/18) - "Larry & Jenny Housley make Horseman Haven Ranch a destination overnight spot. Simply THE BEST! I will stop at Horseman Haven Ranch anytime I'm within 100 Miles. It's that good. Thank you for your care and hospitality toward our horse and his humans!". . . (6/23/19) - "This is an amazing stop! From the moment we got here at 11:00 at night we were welcome and comfortable! Nice paddock for our mule to relax for the night. The grounds were well kept and clean. Full hookup for our 65 foot trailer, which had no issues getting in! Highly recommend for all.". . . (10/9/19) - "Corral and facilities were good, however they charged us $10.00 each for our DOGS!!!! Didn't notice it until we left. Our dogs are well behaved, leashed, and, of course, they sleep in the trailer with us. Very shocked!!!". . . (4/21/21) - "Friendly, wonderful hosts, Larry and Jennie. They went out of their way to make our stay a great experience. They truly love their guests and their horses. You can ride from the ranch. Drive to hot springs and soak or get a great meal. This place is very easy access. We will definitely go back.". . . (11/9/21) - "Fabulous hosts. Huge outdoor paddocks. RV hookups right there. Easy access off I-15. Clean with fresh water and good hay. Helped us back in when we arrived at night. Super responsive hosts. Recommended!". . . (10/25/22) - "Loved staying at the Horseman Haven. They cleaned out my trailer for me while I was settling my horse in the generous outside pen with run-in shelter. Offered coffee in the morning. Very friendly -- very welcoming. Highly recommend!". . . (2/18/23) - "We used Horseman Haven Ranch as a pitstop on our trek from California to Saskatchewan, Canada. Communication with host was fantastic from day one of inquiring. Very thorough with communicating directions and instructions. Host even stayed up late upon our arrival to show us where to put the horses and direct us to the cabin. Water and hay were ready to go for the horses when we arrived. This made things so much easier on us after 18hrs of driving. Cabin was cozy warm and beds super comfy. Both the horses and we were able to get some good rest after an extremely long travel day.". . . (2/19/23) - "Best place ever! We broke down and Larry and Jenny picked us and our horses up, and graciously shared their place with us while our truck was repaired. Amazing facility and amazing people . Will definitely return. Great place to overnight or board."

Comments: (3/19/18) - "This Ranch is the best layover we have ever had on the road. Risa and Adam are super. The facility and camp hookups were immaculate. We travel often and wish every stopover was this good. Check out the Sockeye Brewery and Grill for a night off of camping. The facility is close to I-84 and convenient to anything you may need. My horses had so much fun galloping around the pasture after a day of hauling!" . . . (3/19/18) - "Our horse was kept in a large corral with a covered area and provided clean water and hay. The horse corrals/stalls were immaculately clean and easy to access. Because we stayed for 4 days, we stayed in a small apartment on the grounds rather than a single room which was also available. The people accommodation was also very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay at Laughing Horse, thought the price was reasonable and plan to stay there again when we are in the area!". . . (3/20/18) - "We rented the room and were pleased to find it as advertised. Property and driveway is set up well for easy access for turning trailers around as well as for loading/unloading. Host was very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay with this host whenever I am in town.". . . (3/23/18) - "What a gem! Large pasture for travel weary horses. They frolicked and ran and rolled and ran and whinnied their pleasure. Risa cared for them for 4 days while we visited friends. Beautiful spot!! Easy off the freeway, yet out in the country with beautiful views & quiet. Most perfect spot in our thousands of miles journeys. Worth more than the reasonable price! Would love to have taken advantage of the human accommodations. Next time. Wonderful people. Wonderful spot.". . . (4/16/18) - "My experience staying here with 5 horses was wonderful. Easy in and out and they have tons of space to pull in a large rig and the horse stalls were very spacious. The human accommodations were clean and well kept. I am very impressed with the service amd will definitely be stopping in again.". . . (9/14/18) - "Risa found the proper plug when neither of us had an adapter for my trailer. It was hot and Risa wanted to make sure I was comfortable. She kept the horse comfortable in a pasture. Great care!". . . (11/8/20) - "Great farm to overnight my OTTB. Covered stall with run with adequate water and room to stretch out. Great communication, great bio security, great price. Absolutely recommend.". . . (2/6/22) - "Laughing Horse Boarding and horse Hotel is definitely one of the nicer places we have stayed. Risa was quick to respond to us, very accommodating, her place is easy to get to with nice safe, covered pens. She had clean, sanitized water buckets filled for us and the pens had plenty of room. We stayed the night in her "Hotel" it was cute, quiet, roomy and clean. Beds were awesome and we all slept great."

Comments: (12/26/23) - "Owner was waiting for us and helped get us settled. Showed me where everything was. I rented her onsite cabin (CUTE, Comfortable, Convenient, Close to my horse), There are accommodations if you have a living qtrs trailer, but I did not. I made use of the onsite cabin, and could check on my horse and walk my dog. Garbage cans were conveniently located, I picked up after my dog. So grateful she had an opening as it ended up being a long day for my horse, dog and myself. Oh! Water pressure in the shower was amazing. Thank you so much!"

Comments: (12/29/20) - "Dunn Rite Ranch is a first class facility. We arrived later than expected on an icy, foggy evening and the owners met us in a gator and directed us in. We have a large LQ trailer and had plenty of room to maneuver into our designated area. The stalls are large with nice, heated waterers. I noted before that I was traveling with a single horse and the owners made sure that he had companions within sight. The cleanliness of this facility was phenomenal. Highly recommend!"

Comments: (8/6/12) - "Slightly off the beaten path, but well worth it. Lovely facility, very accommodating and pleasant; horses loved it there!". . . (5/13/15) - "The hosts were wonderful to us and our horses. It was a good location, easy to find, and close to many services in nearby Nampa/Boise.". . . (6/5/16) - "Matt and Alayne were great hosts! They offered places to trail ride and options for amenities during our stay. We were lucky to enjoy the in-ground pool on a 100 degree day, and we went to a horse competition to watch them ride. Driving in to town for shopping needs was just a short drive. We want to go back!". . . (8/17/16) - "It was hot hot hot when I boarded my horses there but the mare hotel setup had a nice breeze and shade with automatic waterers in each run. Very spacious. There is a creek with rushing water between the house and the horse facilities and it makes it seem cooler and the sound was wonderful. It was a 20 minute or so drive from the Caldwell rodeo grounds but it was worth it for the sake of the horses. Will definitely board here again."

Comments: (4/14/13) - "Nice place, horses have room to stretch. Patty let us use her two round pens for our 4 Girls. She also offered us a nice grassy pasture. There is a nice indoor arena for use and Patty let us use her office and restroom. It's not far from town. Thank you Patty for letting us take a break at your place.". . . (8/11/13) - "This was a great experience. We rolled in after midnight but Patty was right there to sign us in. I would highly recommend Otter Ranch Stables to anyone hauling long distance and wanting to give their horses a break. Thanks again Greg and Patty.". . . (7/27/14) - "Took me in last moment when I had trailer problems east of Boise. They waited up for me but didn't charge me a late fee. Great directions, nice stalls, very clean, etc. New owners who are knocking themselves out to make your stay comfortable Highly recommend.". . . (11/13/14) - "Large stall with large run, good fencing. Owners were great, very helpful. We arrived and turned our horses out in the arena but they had plenty of room to trot around in the runs attached to the stalls as well. Highly recommend. Stalls fully matted with rubber.". . . (7/7/15) - "We arrived late after a flat tire on our horse trailer. The hosts were extremely understanding and waiting for us when we arrived. Clean facilities with shelter and runs for the horses to stretch their legs. Would recommend.". . . (9/8/15) - "This was our second time to stay in one summer. John and Sharman are very nice hosts (as are their goats :) and the horses enjoyed turnout, plus stalls with long runs. Convenient place to plug in a LQ trailer. Highly recommend this place, as well as the Elevation 486 restaurant, about 20-min away.". . . (3/18/18) - "John was a fascinating host. We really enjoyed staying at his farm and learning about his experiences. He owns some gorgeous Australian Shepherds. Having a hookup was nice. Would happily stay again. Thanks John!". . . (6/19/18) - "I have stayed here 4 times....won t stay anywhere else! Great place for the horses to stay and the owners are wonderful!". . . (8/22/18) - "Nice hosts.... the stalls needed shavings but all was clean & safe. Unfortunately, we were parked in front of the cattle - the cattle mooed all night very loudly keeping us awake much of the night. We recommend parking away from the cattle but the place is fine otherwise."
