Comments: (2/2/16) - "You will not find a better host than Ricky Carey. My horse Smokey and I stayed with Ricky for 4 nights and it was first class treatment. I highly recommend Ricky's for a pleasant stay and excellent care.". . . (3/14/16) - "Very easy to get to from the Interstate. Very close to restaurants and attractions. Big outdoor arena. Small arena in barn with stalls to work your horse or lunge them to work their muscles after being in the trailer.". . . (4/20/16) - "One of the best places to stay; can come in at any hour. Ricky will really take care of you and your horses.". . . (5/16/16) - "Traveling home from Florida to B.C. Canada we had the pleasure of staying at Carey's Farm. Ricky had everything ready for our young stallion; very safe and secure barn. Staying in one of the rental rooms in his house was a bonus as we left early with Ricky and his brother Mitchel seeing us off. Easy on and off the interstate; would highly recommend Carey's. Thanks again Mitchel for the use of your vehicle to go eat and saving us unhooking the trailer. See you in November for the return to Florida!!!". . . (3/19/17) - "Very friendly and helpful. (9/25/17) - "Ricky met us as we pulled in the driveway and gave our horse a nice little pasture to stretch his legs. He then showed us his stall all ready with fresh bedding. Our horse does better if he can see other horses so Ricky brought in one of his own horses into the barn to keep ours company. Ricky is super friendly and helpful. We will be back!!". . . (10/7/17) - "Awesome. Ricky is a very nice host. Allowed horses to stay out on fields. We were allowed to ride in his arena that had cool obstacles.". . . (10/29/17) - "This is the third time we have stayed at Carey Horse Farm. Ricky is a conscientious, hospitable person with a great setup that he is always improving. The barn has big, safe stalls that fit our Hanovarian stallion and Trakehner Gelding. There is lots of room for parking and we always stay in his guest room. Thank you again Ricky!". . . (11/11/17) - "Wonderful facilities; easy to drive in and out. There is a great turn out for the horses and the stalls are great facing an indoor small arena. Great host!". . . (11/23/17) - "Wonderful stay. The owner, Rick, was very helpful and very friendly. He let us drop our trailer for the night so we didn't have to take it to the hotel with us.". . . (7/1/18) - "Ricky is one of the nicest and most accommodating people you will meet. Getting to his facility at night was a little testy .but he met us and guided us in. Once you drive it, no problem. We have a big rig (Motorhome and trailer), easy to get in and out. Big plus is he has 50 amp and sewer hookups. We recommend Ricky.". . . (8/23/19) - "Highly Recommended. Rick and his wife were very hospitable...Quick response and very accommodating. Facility has easy access for large trailers including full hookups. Was very impressed and will be telling all my friends.". . . (2/27/25) - "SERVICE with a smile. This southern style hospitality is a blessing after a 500 mi leg from WI to FL. Helped with horses, trailer hookup, stall with lots of shavings, clean sand for rolling. They raise and train and have a Wild Horse Competion arena with obstacles open for practice. They have a livery stable adjacent. These folks know horses of all competitive types. They provide emergency horse transportation services and have resources for emergency mechanical repairs. I trust their judgement and services without a doubt! I'll stop here for all future trips. As a destination, they are at the same Hwy. exit as Mammoth Caves National Park and only a few miles away from it. This is a must see site.". . . (3/22/25) - "Very good place to stay. Owner helped us settle in and had everything ready. Easy off and on to I 65. Will use them again."

Comments: (4/13/23) - "Impeccably maintained property. Our horses spent the night happy in a dry lot round pen. Parking and electric for our 3 horse living quarters trailer was perfect.". . . (6/3/23) - "This was a great place to layover. We were able to turn our horses out in a grassy paddock to relax and stretch their legs after a long day on the road. Our host met us at the gate and helped us get settled. We were able to park our living quarters next to the horses. Clean and neat. Highly recommend."(2/26/24) - "Perfect spot to layover for my daughter's 2 show horses. Host met us at the gate which is always nice! We had been on the road for quite awhile so we reserved individual pastures for each horse and stalls. The pastures had fresh water waiting and lots of room to roll and stretch legs. The stalls were large with lots of airflow also with fresh water waiting. We stayed in the LQ under a nice shady tree. *important. Follow the hosts instructions for directions NOT your GPS*. We followed her instructions and I’m glad we did! We will be back."

Comments: (4/29/24) - "Thought it was a nice apartment, had all it needed to be comfortable. Kitchen nice and ready to use with your food. Didn’t use a stall, used horse paddock, 1/2 acre with run in shed and water trough." Administrator's note: Google shows a few restaurants to be about 5 miles away.

Comments: (7/22/24) - Administrator's comments: A reveiw was received on this date by a guest who was unhappy with the narrow driveway and a 90-degree turn, making it difficult for them to navigate with a large trailer. The owner of the horse motel contacted the administrator the day before the review was received, no doubt due to the unhappy customer, asking that her listing be modified to reflect the narrow road and the tight turn. If you have a large rig, be sure to discuss with the horse motel owner about access to her property.
