Comments: (2/25/22) - "Super sweet owners; very nice and accommodating. Barn has four stalls and they provide fresh, bagged shavings for each horse. Very quiet spot for both you and your horse to rest. Quick and easy access on and off the Interstate. We will definitely be recommending to our friends. Weather conditions weren’t ideal to take in the beautiful setting, but we’re looking forward to that on our next visit.". . . (8/22/22) - "Great place to layover and stay with great people, turnouts and hookup! I will definitely stay again!!". . . (10/2/22) - "John and his family are great. They responded quickly regarding a last minute overnight horse stall and they were very accommodating. Made sure I had everything I needed to settle my horse in for the night and the property is beautiful. I would’ve loved to stay for a couple days just to enjoy the beautiful lake.". . . (12/19/22) - "Extremely pleased with our overnight stay with 2 horses and trailer hookup. John was quick to respond to our request and very accommodating as we arrived to get us settled in. Clean property and very tranquil farm with easy access off the interstate. Definitely recommended for travelers with horses."

Comments: (2/4/15) - "GPS was accurate to the address. The gate says 15804, go straight through that gate and if you have a bigger trailer we suggest you stop by the house at the RV spots and unload your horses there and turn around. The owner was able to keep us safe with security cameras and Mike was very helpful!". . . (3/5/21) - "I didn't have horses but stopped in to visit. Mary was very hospitable and kind eough to take time from her chores to show me her place. What a great facility. The grounds are neatly groomed and tidy, even after all the rain the area has had lately. The structures are solidly built and safe for horses. Her listing says it all and her facility will appeal to the most discerning of tastes. Her facility is within easy access to I-10 but in a quiet location. If you stay with Mary, you won't be disappointed.". . . (2/25/24) - "We were on a 12 hour haul coming from FL. . . . we ended up being about an hour early. I texted the host when I was 3 hours out letting her know our new arrival time. She said she wasn't available and I'd have to wait. . . . She said I was not to unload . . . I asked for simple instructions on where to put my animals. She refused. . . " Administrator's comments: This review was edited for content. This is an unfortunate situation at an otherwise nice facility. It's one of the few I've had the pleasure to visit. It's a fine facility and Mary is a pleasant host. Horse motels are often people's private homes and the owners can't always be home. In cases such as this, perhaps a temporary, separate holding area could be designated for unloading until the owner returns. Horses should be able to unload upon arrival.

(Editor's Comments): Due to the large amount of feedback we have received on this facility, all of it positive, we've posted only the more recent comments. We thank everybody who has sent in so many nice comments.)
(6/27/21) - "Band-Aid Barn is the best place we've visited in our travels throughout the Southeast. We chose Band-Aid Barn because they are approximately one-mile off I-59 and when we spoke to Stacey on the phone, we knew she cared about what she does. Stacey was ready for our arrival and the barn & grounds were just like the description. We have a 8314 LQ trailer and had no problems entering the property or maneuvering around the site. Stacey had the stalls ready and they are big, much like foaling stalls. If you are traveling anywhere near Band-Aid Barn and want a place to overnight or rest a couple days, Band-Aid Barn is a great place to choose. My wife and I both feel like we are now part of the Band-Aid Barn family. Thank you Stacey for doing what you do, we will be back to Band-Aid Barn on our next trip through Mississippi.". . . (11/7/21) - "I had to make a last minute trip and asked my friend to help me find a place on Horse Motel. She had found one, Band-Aid Barn in Mississippi. The owner was not able to accommodate me that night as her stables were blocked with hay. A storm had blown off the hay barn roof and hay had been moved into the stable area. Due to the storm she was hesitant about having anyone stay because things were not in their normal order. As it turned out I could not leave that day; however, it worked out well because I was able to stay there the next night. The owner had had time to move around the hay and accommodate my stay. Life has been stressful for me and making the 1,000 mile trip with 3 dogs, a cat, and a horse in pouring rain most of the day .... I was ready to get off the road. Stacey was so helpful and so accommodating. She had a solution for everything. I was able to put the dogs in a kennel outside so they could move around and be fed. My kitty, who had never rode before, was happy to have a kitty kennel indoors alongside other kitties. My horse enjoyed the stable so much with the other horses, too. Stacey met all of my needs and added on other benefits. I couldn't think of anything that would have made my stay more pleasing. Stacy is a very compassionate person with animals and people. She has Vet Tech experience also so I felt very safe with the animals. I felt very secure sleeping in my trailer. I even slept in. I would give it a 10 star accommodation and will deinitely be there on my way back.". . . (12/29/21) - "Stacey was very nice and accommodating. We had several dogs with us and Stacey helped us with them.". . . (1/3/22) - "Stacey was very nice and accommodating. We had several dogs with us and Stacey helped us with them.". . . (1/14/22) - "Stacey was a saving grace! We had four travelers and only one horse. She allowed us to stay on site with my horse. The stalls were secure, the barn was thoughtfully constructed to create the most comfortable space for the animals. Separate boarding facilities were available for dogs/cats/other. She was able to accommodate us within a few hours notice. Not only was Stacey extremely friendly and knowledgable, she met us at the gate and made sure my pony was taken care of from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. She embodies true southern hospitality. If you are traveling from Florida to the west, this is a great place to stop for the number of hours traveled. We left from Orlando, Florida and were traveling to Victoria, Texas. Great place to get a good amount of road behind us to make for an easy drive the second day. I HIGHLY recommend Band-Aid Barn for safety and care of your fur-babies. The only negative I have is that I didn't get to stay and visit with Stacey longer and to go for a quick horseback ride with her:( TWO THUMBS WAY WAY UP!". . . (2/8/22) - "Amazing host! Super accommodating and above and beyond the call of duty. Super down to earth and a good place to park your LQ and horses for the night. Great reliable 30 amp service. Privvy available. Just a sweetheart host.... bends over backward for ya...and lets you rest. Super quiet. My rig is a 2 horse with 6 ft. short wall and we have plenty of room! One mile off I-55... beautiful digs. I'll definitely be back! Thanks so much!". . . (3/10/23) - "A great place! Stacey, the owner, was warm and welcoming. I am recommending this farm to everybody.". . . (10/14/23) - "I stayed at the Band Aid Barn for the night just passing through and had a delightful stay and would absolutely come again. Stacey is very sweet and helpful in anyway you need, the barn and house were clean and ready for us when we got there. Couldn’t have been better!"

Comments: (3/19/08) - "This is a wonderful place to stay. Jo is a super sweet person. We highly recommend staying here. We could not ask for more. The prices were fair & {the facility} offered just what we needed on our long trip from Florida to Colorado.". . . (12/1/15) - "Jo is an absolute delight. She reached out on our arrival day to verify our stay and eta. Everything was prepared for our stay. The property is beautiful and we had a long discussion on the battle of Vicksburg and the family owned ferry. Jo - we will be back!! Thanks for your wonderful southern hospitality!!!". . . (7/4/18) - "What a hidden gem! After driving all night, arriving to Bridgeport Farm was a welcomed site. The facility is beautiful, clean, and private and the owner is very hospitable and gracious. We chose to travel to Vicksburg for dinner which was a 20 minute drive away. I highly recommend this facility and look forward to my next stay with Jo.". . . (6/28/21) - "This place was perfect! Jo allowed our 2 horses pasture turn out because we asked. She was happy to not just allow, but to greet my 8 dogs. Easy to maneuver our 34 ' trailer. I felt totally safe leaving horses, dogs, trailer to go eat. Beautifully groomed, clean, shaded property. Wonderful people! wonderful place to stay.". . . (1/31/22) - "Beautiful setting, easy access off of I-20. Large safe stalls. Round pen. Hook ups. Space to accommodate large trailers. Hosts were super nice and attentive.". . . (4/7/23) - "Ms. Jo couldn’t have been any sweeter or more helpful. Beautiful, safe farm and very secluded. Safe, spotlessly clean stalls and dog friendly. It’s a touch tight but I got a semi & 42’ trailer in and out easily. Highly recommend!!!". . . (1/27/24) - "We absolutely loved stopping over here for the night. The owners were on-site, met us at the gate and welcomed us. They visited with us while we unloaded and got the horses settled. Barn and stalls were perfect and the property is stunning with all the trees, land and a tank. Property was immaculate. The roads to and inside the property are paved. We will definitely be back when we need to stop in this area."

(2/17/22) - "What a Wonderful Little Farm. Hosts met us at the gate and made sure we had everything we needed. Barn in excellent condition, well appointed and clean. The guesthouse is amazing.... 1 bedroom with 2 beds and a day bed, large bath with tub and shower, fully equipped kitchen, and SO CLEAN! A+++". . . (5/20/22) - "My mom and I were traveling from South Carolina to Texas for a training opportunity and had the good fortune to lay over with Cathy and John at Terrebonne Farm. Cathy met us at the road so we wouldn’t miss our turn. The barn was very clean with large stalls and great turnout. The apartment was very clean and spacious. Cathy and John went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and make sure Rumor was safe and cared for. I would highly recommend Terrebonne Farm.". . . (8/29/22) - "Catherine and John were wonderful hosts. They helped us out when my truck broke down just miles from their place and hosted my son and I as well as all of our animals, 2 horse, chickens, several cats and 3 dogs. We were moving moving from Texas to North Carolina and having many troubles along the way but these two were very accommodating and allowed us to stay a few other nights while my truck got fixed. People like Catherine and John will restore your faith in humanity. Earth Angels, they are very much appreciated. Thank you, your place is beautiful and I know my horses loved it as they didn't want to leave the pasture when we loaded up early in the morning.". . . (9/7/22) - "The barn was beautiful, the apartment was absolutely stunning! Extremely spacious, clean, and well equipped. Honestly the only downfall is that you need to stop for food before arriving or bring something to cook. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely use this farm again.". . . (5/4/23) - "Great hosts, guest house, and stall! I especially appreciated that my horse was able to stretch his legs and spend time turned out in the paddock after our long drive.". . . (5/15/23) - "Cathy and John helped us get settled and were a huge help with all our gear - we had 3 trucks/trailers and they accommodated it all. Our three horses were treated to a well-appointed, beautiful barn, and were all happy and secure. Stalls with sliding doors, lovely big windows in the back to look out, nicely bedded down, great air flow, lots of fans, incredibly clean and tidy. They had everything they needed. Guest house for the people was spacious and clean, comfortable. The entire property was beautiful, and our hosts could not have been more welcoming and kind.". . . (8/14/23) - "These people were God-sends! After 9 hours on the road with my elderly dad and two irritated mares, my trailer tire burst. He came to us on the highway and changed the tire with his tools while she got the barn and apartment ready for us. My girls loved the turnout and the stalls were so cozy. Absolutely lovely couple, with a beautiful facility. They watched my girls while we drove to get a new tire in the morning. I cannot tell them enough how much I appreciated everything!". . . (8/29/23) - "We had the need for a layover for my mare on a recent trip (8/23) that was last minute. I called at 4pm with an arrival about 9pm. Mr John and Ms Cathy were amazing! They met us at the gate, took us to the barn where I could cool off my mare from sweating in the trailer in 105°. She had a very nice, spotless stall with a fan and fresh shavings. They visited with us while we got her cleaned up, fed and settled. Then they helped us get our things and drove us on the golf cart to the guest house which was exceptional!! Completely furnished, large living room, kitchen complete with a gallon of cold bottled water and very nice bathroom with separate shower and tub... the bedroom had 3 beds and were beautifully made with turndown service!! I cannot say enough good about these folks or the facility. If you need a layover close to I-20 in Mississippi....this is the place!! We will most definitely use them again!!!!". . . (1/17/23) - "The best little gem for horses and humans in MS. On our way from Georgia to Ft Worth Horse Show, got in a snowstorm, with icey conditions, we had to get off the road. Couldn’t have asked for a better layover."

Comments: (8/18/09) - "Just wanted to drop a note of THANKS to Golden Horse Stables. We stayed at Golden Horse Stables on our way out from Florida to New Mexico for the National High School Rodeo Finals. The place was not hard to find and Mr. Mike and his son were very nice people. Mr. Mike helped us get parked and set up for the night and even cleaned out my trailer for me. The stalls were good size and had fresh bedding. My mare was glad to get out and roll. My husband had dropped his keys and we didn't realize it until we were half way across LA. We called Mike, he found them and mailed them to our home in Florida, THANK YOU VERY MUCH MIKE!! See you next time we come thru your way.". . . (8/5/10) - "Folks at Golden are very friendly and helpfull. They do thier best to make your stay a good one.". . . (8/23/11) - "Disappointed that the host did not even look over the health paperwork we brought for the horses, makes me worried about unhealthy horses staying at the facility. The stalls were not completely cleaned out, watering and feeding containers were not clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. RV hookups possibly not adequate for larger rigs, they warned us about popping the circuit breaker if we used the microwave with the AC. We chose to keep our horses in the round pen overnight and they did fine.". . . (6/15/13) - "Mike and his wife were the friendliest people I've met in a long time. Down to earth and welcoming people. I've been traveling from Phoenix Arizona and Mississippi was my second night stop and they made me feel so welcomed. They came right out and greeted me and offered refreshments. Their stalls were so clean and they had water and fresh bedding down for my horse. Their property was beautiful. The next morning Mike was outside and offered me a wheel barrel to help clean my trailer out, that he also let me keep on his property for the night. This place was rated a 10 by me and I highly recommend anyone who has a horse to stay here if they are traveling.". . . (3/11/18) - "Mike was a great host for an overnight stay with our horses. He was there to greet us and set up our LQ Trailer so it was even. Great communication. Easy for our 50 ft. rig to get in and out. The barn was very unique and quaint. The horses were happy and Mike came and filled up the buckets with fresh water. They gave us an awesome suggestion for a place to eat. Would stay here again along this route and it's very easily located to everything you need, but on a nice quiet road for a good nights sleep.". . . (4/22/19) - "Super nice folks, very accommodating!". . . (6/27/19) - "Stopped enroute from Tx to GA. Parked our LQ trailer right next to the barn. Will stop again.". . . (3/20/21) - "Owner met us on arrival and very friendly. Facility easy to locate. Stalls are a decent size but they are pretty dark. Facility has some challenges (horses need to walk up two concrete steps to enter barn and there is a metal sign above steps which, if horse raises head, could cause injury) and some safety issues (gate to barn is secured by metal latch with points on it); there is a flushing toilet in the loft but there is no door on it, which could prove embarrassing, plus it was not clean. 30 amp service available but looks like the receptacle was charred from electrical arc; water available but need hose extension to reach; site for LQ was not very level; limited sight distance when pulling back out on road. Friendly people but site is not for everyone.". . . (11/7/22) - "Owner greeted me and helped me set up. I felt safe and secure. It was easy to find and not far off of I-20. It's not a fancy farm but it works. Very nice people.". . . (2/8/23) - "We pulled in to be greeted by a very friendly couple. At first we thought he was joking with us when he asked is our horses could walk upstairs... he's not joking. Concrete steps onto a porch that was cluttered with patio furniture, down a skinny walk then turn into and down a step into the very dark stalls. I was traveling with a blind horse and opted to thank him for his time and stay at a different location. He did get a bit defensive with me and offered a fenced paddock... (the fencing was collapsing). This place may work for some, but for us this would not have been a safe stay."

Comments: (2/23/12) - "Nice folks. Easy access from I-10. Not exactly the Hilton, but functional and suitable for my needs. Close to Gulfport and Biloxi casinos and lodging. I'd maybe even trust them to hold my wallet when I went into town. Maybe ... ". . . (4/9/12) - "Charles was so great to me and my horse, Quincy. The property was beautiful and he bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. He even let me turn out Quincy in his pasture (which was exactly what Quincy needed after a day on the road). A bonus was his great dog, Wiggles :-) This ranch was great and I would stay here again for sure.". . . (5/14/12) - "Chris and his crew were absolutely awesome! Made us feel right at home, let us turn out an anxious horse to run it off, and was really helpful with settling in my four horses for the night. Definitely will be staying there again!". . . (10/13/13) - "Oct 2013 Our horse loves this place and so do we.We stay in a 40 foot motorhome with 30 amp plus water and our horse stays in a stall at night and pasture by day. Our horse is so calm here that we feel we can go out to eat as well as go to a casino. We also know that Charles and his wife will take good care of our horse. They even have a camera in the stall to check on him at night. Improvements are constantly visible in our bi annual stop, from trimming trees for the motorhome, new paddocks, guest quarters lofted over the barn to improved horse wash. Excellent horse care is number one priority in this tranquil stop.". . . (5/24/14) - "This facility was beautiful and the hosts were very accommodating. They also had a super cute apartment we stayed in over the barn. Great food nearby and happy, well cared for horses.". . . (7/5/14) - "Perfect!". . . (3/7/15) - "Charles was friendly and very helpful upon arrival. He greeted us and made sure our Jenny was comfortable and tucked away in a safe clean stall. We were able to rest easy for the night knowing our animal was in good hands after traveling across three states. Charles even offered good advice on local establishments and a weather report on our departure. Definitely recommend to other equine travelers. Even though it says 3.6 miles from interstate, it's a straight shot and easy to find even when your eyes are blurry from a long drive in the dark. Would go back again. Krystal from Texas.". . . (4/14/15) - "A wonderful place to stay with horses; great hosts, great local seafood restaurants 5 minutes away. We have stayed 3 times and it only gets better.". . . (7/2/16) - "Excellent overnight boarding! Owners were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Stalls we large, clean and secure. Easy in, easy out. Will definitely stay here again!". . . (12/10/18) - "Clean, friendly, easy to deal with and answers right away.". . . (5/27/21) - "Charles was super cool. He was more than accommodating when the stalls they had ready for us were not going to work for our horses due to fully enclosed and our horses freaking out cause they couldn't see each other. They allowed us to keep them in the round pen and then later in the arena. We were broke down in Mississippi for 3 days and Charles hooked us up with a mechanic and allowed us to stay another 2 nights. He even offered to tow our bus for us. Super nice guy. ☺ 💓🐴 Thanks for everything, Charles.". . . (5/4/22) - "Charles is wonderful — a horseman and a gentleman. It's very calming at his farm after a hectic day on the highway. My horse has stayed at this facility twice and we'll keep coming back. My Garmin gave me the wrong directions for the street address (somehow there were two entries, in different zip codes, and I initially went to the wrong one), yet Google Maps had it right... If in doubt, you can check with Charles to make sure you'll be getting off at the correct exit.". . . (5/16/22) - "Excellent place, will be back next year!!"

We were delayed getting in and I had to unload in the middle of the night and changed plans last minute to put my horses inside because of heavy rain. I had originally planned on an outside pen. So accommodating and thorough with instructions. Easy to pay, and a great place to overnight. Only 8 minutes to our motel and plenty of restaurants very close. Super easy access to I-20."

This is a great layover for private and commercial haulers alike. Huge stalls, very accommodating host, easy access for the largest of rigs. Reasonable rate and the ability to arrive at any time and 'self serve' is a huge plus for those of us who might need an unexpected stop along the way. Is a little farther than I prefer (only about 7 miles) to a hotel but owner is considering adding overnight accommodations for humans so that would be a huge plus. Overall, this is one of my favorite layovers and I will use it again whenever I'm in the area, I couldn't say enough good things. Thank you for having me and the boys I had on board!". . . (6/23/16) - "Silver Creek had everything we needed for the night. Our horses enjoyed the round pen and we plugged in to electric. The facilities are available whatever time you arrive and include stalls, wash rack, arenas, plug ins and restrooms. It was a welcome stopover!". . . (6/7/17) - "Silver Creek was a great place to stop overnight to allow my horse to rest on a long haul. A stall was bedded and ready for us when we arrived and the owner of the property was very accommodating and friendly. She checked on my horse overnight and sent me an update. The property is beautiful and had a nice area for my horse to graze. Turnout was available as well. The stall had a fan and the barn had lights. I would definitely stop here again!". . . (7/21/17) - "Great facility. Thank you for being there!"
