Comments: (9/16/22) - "Donna and Dave’s horse motel is stellar. My horse has been visibly stressed at some other horse hotels during our trip from east to west coast, and this was my horse’s favorite by far - the owners’ friendly horses were in view, which helped immensely. The on-site human accommodations are top notch as well. Highly recommend this as a layover spot.". . . (1/12/23) - "The outdoor pens were a bit tight for my 18h horse (10ft side just is a little too tight for big guys 😅, perfect for the average size horse). We were able to use the turnout paddock for several hours so the smaller pen wasn't an issue because they could stretch and roll in the turn out. Overall, both my horses were relaxed and happy here, very quiet, clean and secure property. We stayed in our LQ. The only small problem we had was when we went to leave the parking spot. It could be a bit difficult to get out of if you aren't careful in the snow. We did have about 4 inches of fresh snow during our overnight stay so without the snow, we would have been fine leaving. 10/10 would stay again!". . . (7/23/23) - "Absolutely wonderful people! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our hosts, Dave & Donna, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The accommodations were immaculate and beautifully decorated, providing a perfect blend of comfort and style. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, from the cozy bedding to the well-equipped kitchenette. The peaceful surroundings and stunning views were just what we needed to unwind and relax. For horse lovers, this place is a dream come true. The stables were clean and well-maintained, and it was clear that the horses were well-cared for and happy. What truly set this place apart was the exceptional hospitality of our hosts. Their genuine kindness and dedication to ensuring we had a fantastic stay made us feel right at home. Overall, our experience was outstanding. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or an equestrian adventure, this is the place to be."

Comments: (4/9/21) - "Val was a great host and exceptionally friendly. We were able to unhitch our trailer overnight and there was plenty of room for our big rig to turn around. The stalls were clean and the run was quite large. Plenty of room for my mare to stretch her legs on our long trip. Val also had cameras in the barn so she was able to let me know once my girl settled down which was a great peace of mind. I highly recommend staying here and I’ll definitely keep this place in mind if I drive through again!". . . (5/15/21) - ". . . . The stall my horse was in was great and very safe. The hospitality and care were wonderful. I had bought a warmblood that was very unhandled and I would not been able to load her the next morning without Val‘s help! Thank you!! So, so happy I stayed there.". . . (8/26/24) - "I called Sage Hill last minute after a previous location was rained out. They had a nice stall with a good sized run available. The water was freshly filled and the stall mats were clean. They did not have power available, but I have a generator. I was able to park right next to the barn which was so very convenient for taking care of my horse. It was an easy in and out.". . . (6/11/25 - "They were very friendly and helpful. We stayed here twice (once headed north, then a week later when we were headed south). Would recommend and would stay here again."

Comments: (7/24/19) - "Wonderful place and a great host.". . . (11/10/20) - "Mickey was an excellent host in accommodating our visit. I had a mustang purchased in Colorado and was driving back to California. Facilities were clean. She had supplies (like shavings) available for purchase. And Ike enjoyed his romp in her available round pen. I would highly recommend this facility.". . . (5/25/21) - "Wonderful facility for an overnight stay. Mickey was welcoming and my mare was comfortable there. Thank you!". . . (7/4/24) - "Mickey is a wonderful host. The location is an easy to get to with her detailed instructions and the horse facilities were great with a small area to go outside attached to their stalls. We were able to back our 45’ trailer in easily and had 30 amp service for our air conditioner. When a local power outage occurred Mickey called us while we were out to eat to let us know because she knew we had our dogs in the trailer and didn’t want it to get too hot. Power was restored after we returned and it was all good but her thoughtfulness was really appreciated. I highly recommend her horse hotel for a layover."

I wasn't going to be in until late and she let me come in and check myself in. She filled the water buckets in the stalls and left the lights on for me. Terry was helpful in making sure I found the place and that my horse settled in. She has 3 stalls with runs, a larger paddock (further from her 4 horses) and a round pen. I chose to keep my horse in one of the stalls. There was water right near the stalls. The stall was clean, I provided my own buckets and hay. There were limited shavings already in the stall. It was an easy in/out with our big rig. Hotels and restaurants were nearby. (We did not stay in our rig as it needed to stay winterized.) *****". . .
